There is angry group that want it changed back. It's got over 3000 members in just a few hours.

http://www.last.fm/group/Bring+back+the+old+Last.fm

... and people are re-tagging a random MP3 to:

"Artist - The Last.fm Users Song Title - Bring Back The Old Last.fm. Album - Bring Back The Old Last.fm"

and then leaving it on repeat so that it scrobes to the top of their charts :D

It's awful. It wasn't in beta long enough and some of the staff has even said this. It wasn't supposed to be released when it was but it was supposedly taking too much effort to keep up with both site designs so they went ahead and pushed this one out. There is way too much white space and the colors used are horrible. White background? Who the hell thought that was a good idea? And, while I'm sure it was done for "functionality" and "aesthetics" it's mainly been done for advertising. I just hope that an alternative crops up soon. They should have just improved upon their old design and fixed the problems going on with speed before. They have a real problem with keeping everything together; every once in a while when the subscription server goes down everything messes up ensuing in a massive sh!tstorm and I believe they should have dedicated their time to these issues first.

The group seems to be locked now. I see a "You can't post a shout here" at the top of the list. Maybe they just want us to close accounts instead?

Never mind... I'm just a dummy and didn't join the group first. :)

I like it.

The simple red and white works, nothing is too in your face.

Its organised better than it was and doesn't feel like everything is squashed in as much.

People will always moan no matter what, some people can't deal with cahnge right away, will moan for a few weeks and will eventually settle down.

Yeah a white background on a website is so crazy...

    • It saddens me when cars are such dull colours now. Mine is bright metallic blue and I absolutely adore it for standing out in contrast to that depressing backdrop of traffic.

    • lol it was a typo, fixed! haha imagine an actual 4TB Gen4 NVMe for $40 in 2026
    • Get over it, has nothing to do with my point.
    • I really don't like these rounded corners and huge borders in the viewport. They just waste space without anything in return.
