I think. It's just a guess, but Mr. Dee is possibly an former Windows Vista tester and he is just attempting to massage his ego by pretending he's privy to information that no one else has. Therefore making himself feel superior to everyone else; which also coincidentally seems to give him the right to call others stupid if they don't feel the same way about a snippet of possibly misinterpreted information.

A :trout: to Mr. Dee.

I am not acting superior, I just have respect for technology, authority, software development, love for aesthetically pleasing graphical user interfaces and just beautiful design. I try to fight against the attitude of betas just being a popularity contest. Brandon's few comments in the thread came off a bit condescending thats why I have responded the way I have so far. But don't get the wrong impression of me as a know it all, maybe its just passion I have for Windows and the platform.

I am not privy to any information, I have not written anything in this thread or in this forum that should make anyone think that. The post that started this thread was from a public blog by a Microsoft employee. Again, I have not called anyone stupid, I might have offended your statement, but not the individual.

I was merely pointing out that some of your information is incorrect or makes little sense. You seemed to be trying to describe the Windows development process without any actual knowledge of said process. This is why I said I was confused.

Mr. Dee. Brandon works for Microsoft so most would trust his opinion, I do.

Perhaps you should be less defensive and lofty.

I am aware that Brandon works for Microsoft, I have known that a long time, please don't think I have not visited the links in his signature.

Never did I go into anything over technical about the development process of Windows in this thread. I just said that building Windows is a difficult thing and you of all persons should know that. Windows Vista is a great example of how difficult it was to build a version of Windows (I don't know if this has changed with Windows 7). The initial work and codebase upon which Longhorn was being built was not stable enough to support the weight of technologies the Company was building the next generation platform on, thats why the reset took place in August of 2004 and Windows Server 2003 SP1 codebase was used. Although my history of this is not technical, I was not emphasizing or trying to detail any technical prowess, just open knowledge in layman terms. For this I gave accolades to the people at the place you work, obviously you would be included, instead you chose to misinterpret what I said as some offense or lack of knowledge. What gives?

Brandon you shouldn't have been so condescending and rude in your first reply..

Leaving one word posts that say "Sigh.." only serves raising your post count and being an ass.

I can see why he is being defensive.

Sorry, you're right. I should have said:

"Dear Mr Dee,

It is evident to me that you are asserting this information as fact, in the manner of an authoritative source, rebuking the comments of others - whilst not truly being in a position of authority on this matter. I do not wish to comment in great detail on as sensitive a topic as an unreleased project that I currenly work on, of which any and all information has been closely guarded. However, I wish to express to others how untrustworthy, incomplete, or inaccurate your statements appear to be, without offending you if at all possible.

Yours always,

Brandon"

On the other hand, sometimes it's easier to just sigh.

I Agree with you on this. I'd probably get defensive if someone did that. Really makes you look like, hey I know more than you but I'm not going to disclose anything because I'm better.

Or just maybe I'm not going to disclose anything because I'd like to keep my job...

Oh yeah, and the post I was responding to totally wasn't condescending at all...

When you are computer illiterate it will be rubbish to you.

... -_-

This is Vista all over again, a thousand or so geeks orgasm over a screenshot. Sooner or later it'll be people stabbing other people in the back for a chance to run an incomplete and buggy build of an OS...

What is the big deal with Windows 7 anyway? It's in dev, so what, so was Chicago, Whistler and Longhorn. It's Windows, so what.. in about three years 60 to 70% of the human population using PC's will be running it anyway..

This thread is full of useless flaming that just isn't needed. Considering that Brandon works for Microsoft, he probably knows more about Windows than any of some of you ever will. Furthermore, I see no reason to leave this thread open for more people to continue bashing each other.
