Does this support 64bit versions of Windows do you know? My flatmate has been having ongoing issues with microphone support on his original Audigy card under 64bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 and is desperately trying ANY drivers he can find!

I have had big time problems with my mic on Win 7 x64 with Audigy 2 ZS. The solution for me: skip the audigy card and use the built-in sound instead and voila - mic works perfect.

Should do, Creative's driver packages usually cater for both flavours.

I think he's leaning towards trying his onboard card as well.. getting sick of Creatives inability to produce fully functional drivers!

That's why my Audigy 2 Platinum is sitting on a shelf in a anti-static bag. Onboard sound is fairly decent these days (at least the HD Audio is). It doesn't sound *quite* as warm and rich as my Audigy 2 did, but it's not bad.

I'm using this driver in windows 7 64 bit with an audigy 4 with no problems (besides wmp not playing mp3s unless i disable enhancements)

This! How can they release a driver update without even testing it with WMP? Even the Sound CP says the hardware enhancements are causing problems and should be disabled. My Audigy 4 is waiting on the shelf for CL to 'pull their heads out' as well. Meanwhile my on-board Sigmatel(IDT) is working great with full 5.1 and no crashes or warnings to disable anything. :)

Disabling 'enhancements' kills CMSS and EAX, effectively turning the Audigy into a generic 2-channel sound card.

Has anyone gotten auto update to work with these drivers under Windows 7x64 RTM? I have these installed but every time I run auto update I get the message: "Creative Software AutoUpdate was unable to detect any Creative products attached to your computer." Also I had a ton more features when I was running the same card in Vista x64.

Currently running this on Asus P6t mobo.

Wonderful! Worked great on my brother's old machine. He runs Windows 7 and had some issues w/ his Sound Blaster Audigy card. This update fixed most of them. One of the annoying issues left is the Creative Game Port staying as an Unknown Device. I've read about other people having problems w/ it, in both Vista and 7. So annoying. If anybody ran into this issue and has any idea on how to fix the driver, it would be great.

Thanks for the news tip.

It seems that the Creative Console Launcher Application for the X-Fi Titanium series has been updated to operate properly under Windows 7. Does anybody know if Creative Console for the original X-Fi sound cards, like XtremeMusic, will be updated for Win7 anytime soon?

    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
