Is this any good?

I'm going to mostly be shooting pics of the kids at the zoo and that kind of stuff, but would be interested in taking some nice shots I may find otherwise. Is this a decent camera for that kind of price?

That was one of the things that actually caught me in a review, was one person said he bought it because it was Leica.
