Binary -

Have you thought of including a "small start panel" like b0se uses in his themes? - I think it would be a great addition.

Absolutely not :) I dislike that type of start menu very much :) (no offense to the slim start menu styles). But you guys can easily open it up in stylebuilder and change the margins yourself.

Chris

I agree. Annoying, and just doesn't feel right. I'm glad I no longer have a start menu. :p

Binary when the shell styles for Watercolor Lite are released will they look the same as the shell styles in Watercolor 4.3? :)

no, they look the same as the shellstyles in My Watercolor XP windowblinds skin.

Chris

the hanging of explorer.exe on my machine is possibly caused by watercolor (regular and lite), still investigating, give me a few more days to observe, does anyone experience explorer hanging/crashing after they use watercolor?

nope, i don't experience either. :)

Never. I doubt very much that any msstyle would cause this.

Perhaps a hacked uxtheme.dll is the troublemaker?

Chris

hey, could someone point me to the link to download the watercolour ERGONOMIC winamp 2xx skin? i tried searching to no avail. thanks!

Here ya go :) ....

Radish.

I highly recomend you make the default right click menus use the same method as the start menu does for highlighting text (as it did in the original Whistler screenshots).

I know this is possible because I have seen it done in many other msstyles.

It looks much better in my opinion! :)

Keep up the great work! ;)

That would mess up the start menu colouring. But, if you want an 'almost' exact replica of the whistler theme, try my Watercolor XP windowblinds theme. It has this idea implemented aswell as numerous others that msstyles just couldnt pull off.

It's on wincustomize, just search watercolor xp :)

Chris

will someone please mod this to have a compact start panel...that'd be sweet.

yes i know binary doesn't like them.  yes i know blah blah blah.  someone mod it and send it to me.  [email protected]

Why not make compact menu yourself?

Just get a copy of stylebuilder.

http://www.tgtsoft.com/download.php

Import watercolor.

Do same for a theme with a compact menu.

Resize watercolor pics to same size as compact menu pics, and readjust startpanel items sizes for watercolor theme to same size as items in the compact menu theme.

Click apply, and there ya have it,your own personal custom watercolor.

I've made Shellstyles for both Blue & Ergonomic substyles as I don't use other colours  ....

These were made from the Shellstyles from the Normal Watercolor v4.3  ....

Below I will post 3 pics of my Watercolor Lite with the Ergonomic Shellstyle in effect - My Computer, Control Panel, and Hard Disk ....

The Blue Shellstyle is exactly the same, just the Blue is brighter as you can imagine :) ....

If you like what you see, I will upload both Shellstyles to the Board ;) ....

Radish.

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
