Media Player 9 Series and Y'z Dock

Recommended Posts

everytime i'm using Windows Media Player (9 series) - it make my Y'z dock (and pretty generally my whole computer) slightly slower. Not completely, 'i can't work so i'll pull out all my hair' slow - but still a bit jerky than usual.

All is fine when i stop listening to my music..

what should I do? (apart from not listening to my music :p )

I've found out that it only does that because of the visuals or the video that wmp9 does. I just minimize it and it doesn't hurt performance as bad. I would suggest though that you try some other player if possible. ;)

Maybe it's just me... but... doesn't it take RAM to listen to music? My WMP/Winamp uses about 2 megs of RAM, + however many megs the song is (just seems like the usual formula), and it takes its fair share of Processor too. I think about 5-10%, last time I ran samurize. Vizualizations are MAJOR killers, too. Now, granted, this is on a low end system- 192 ram, 700 mhz, but still... Yeah, listening to music takes RAM and Processor, so it's kinda a given that things are gonna be a bit slower if you're listening to music.
