Walt Disney Pictures confirmed the rumors today on Twitter that Michael Sheen will have a role in director Joseph Kosinski's Tron Legacy, targeted for a November or December, 2010 release. Sheen will reportedly play the villain, who, he himself tweeted, is "in fact not a person at all."

I looooved the TRON video game!

I remember watching the movie, and liking it. But I was a kid then. I am sure if I watched it now, I would find the plot thin.

As long as Tron Guy isn't in the sequel, I will watch it, if only for the nostalgia. :)

Whats not to like about the dude? Actually I saw it not too long ago and I still found the plot line very fascinating.

I don't think they should do a remake. They should make a sequel instead.

Might just have to grow the mullet back, if for no other reason than this.... um. no.

and I can already envision a plotline for another sequel- wrap your heads around quantum computing versus mankind. ;)

May be an odd lead-in / reach-around to tie in to a Terminator or Matrix like scenario, but... :cool: I doubt the writers are reading this.

Michael Sheen, who plays one of the Volturi in New Moon, says he plays a nightclub owner in this new sequel:

My stuff was mainly in this amazing set that they built because I'm a nightclub host, so they built the nightclub and... it was one of those great scenes where there's just loads going on," he said. Sheen went on to describe some of the effects he's seen so far as being better than the "proof of concept" short that we saw coming out of San Diego Comic-Con this past summer.
