rlculver
Hi, I have a friend who is still running Windows ME. He has recently just started having problems with his broadband connection. He is on Orange Broadband and using a speedtouch 330 modem. He is unable to access any websites. He can get to Google, but any link from Google = nothing - Page cannot be displayed. I have brought the computer come and linked to my router - All works fine. Any ideas? I have even tried reinstalling the speedtouch software. I have taken my laptop to his house and cannoted the modem to my laptop. All works fine on that too..... Thanks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/651908-windows-me-unable-to-access-certain-websites/ Share on other sites

Farstrider
I have a friend, and he runs DOS, he cant open Netscape Navigator, any suggestions? Tell him that a healthy dose of Windows XP or Vista should do the trick!!! Or perhaps a nice helping of Ubuntu! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/651908-windows-me-unable-to-access-certain-websites/#findComment-590247568 Share on other sites

LTD
What is this "Windows ME" that you speak of? I know not of any product between 98 and XP </sarcasm> Well you must know Win 2000. ;) I wonder how many still prefer Win 2k over XP and Vista. Win 2k was a very good OS. Well, good relative to previous Windows operating systems. redvamp128
Try downloading Firefox 2.0.18-- and see if the issue still occurs. Also try on the actual computer-- A live Linux Version to see if it is his modem or connection. That would help you determine if ME is the Culprit. ToneKnee
Maybe the internets decided that they should forbid people from using Windows ME? But it does sound like the modem is at fault here.
