Stinky Newb
Of course it isn't accurate, but don't you think it shows some sort of idea of how many people are playing this game? You think there are MILLIONS of users that don't know about Xfire? Doubt it. This game sucks.

39 Thieves
Then how did you know about one specific species of animal in WoW? Lucky guess? Enjoyed WAR thoroughly, yet you find it boring? Troll much? Or just starved for attention? If you're really 21 years old, might want to try acting like it, instead of randomly insulting something other people enjoy. Spookie
EA Mythic needs to do something or this game is gonna be a huge bust, like it has already proven to be.. Yeah I mean it if hasn't got 10 million subs they might as well **** it off and go down the pub right? On a happier note I just hit 39, one more level and I can take it easy while my guild catches up and I can now arse about in world RvR more. :D

Starved for attention? Nah. I did like WAR but then i hit a spot. Playing scenarios with 95% rejects and clickers who cant even put their fingers on WASD got tiresome. I played WoW for a long time, and please dont reply with the usual fanboy crap cause i do understand the games are very different and War HAD the potential to be 1000000x better than WoW. It is better than wow imho, but it still sucks. This game is not living up to the hype, reoccurring subscribers will dwindle month by month
Magichat
http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=134117 ^11 pages of people who feel exactly like me. https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...#entry589919866 The game is terrible I can not even stand to login any more. T3 is a mindless grind. I wanted to play one story line pairing through the game but that is not possible. Instead you need to jump to other pairings in the middle of chapters. Its like reading one book till chapter 13 putting it down then picking up another book you have never read and skipping right to chapter 7. It completely kills the feel of the pairing and discourages characters from creating alts. The other problem is direction. Warhammer does not direct you in its game play for example I will use WoW (since most have played it) when your questing in the barrens and you start to out level your area the game directs you to go to ashenvale. This simply does not occur in Warhammer and leads to alot of confusion and frustration (It did occur briefly in the empire vs chaos pairing in T2). Mythic pretty much stated they wanted to release the game before WoTLK since WoW is at a low point right now with people being bored of content. However in doing so they released a game that feels unpolished and down right sloppy. No one knows why they nerfed the exp from OB to release by 30% for questing and mythic has yet to acknowledge the problem. Don't even get me started on rehashing the Daoc engine. I could tirelessly rant on into the night but those who are blinded by their zealous fanboism will continue to play the game. But hopefully I can reach out to that one person who was maybe on the edge about buying the game and discourage him or her from doing so. A quick note regarding Xfire it is a good way of judging how a game is being received in the market on warhammers release it easily surpassed WC3 TFT and BF2 over the last 2 weeks it has steadily declined from 4 to 5 down to #6 http://www.xfire.com/games/who/Warhammer_O...e_of_Reckoning/ Simply look at the chart. Its like reading one book till chapter 13 putting it down then picking up another book you have never read and skipping right to chapter 7. Warhammer does not direct you in its game play for example I will use WoW (since most have played it) when your questing in the barrens and you start to out level your area the game directs you to go to ashenvale. They do. There will always be quests that lead you to the next chapter camp if you complete the series and rally masters have a set of quests once you hit the second pip to branch the story. But while we are talking about WoW it was impossible do follow Barrens to Ashenvale without skipping over to Hillsbrad due to the lack of quests. The situation isn't unique to WAR. Yes it could be improved but you have to encourage people to look at other racial pairings or the RvR lakes would be dominated by one side. No one knows why they nerfed the exp from OB to release by 30% for questing and mythic has yet to acknowledge the problem. To quote mythic: As part of our ongoing effort to tweak Warhammer Online based on player play patterns, we are making some adjustments to the rate and manner of experience gain in certain parts of the game. We continually analyze the data from our in-game metrics tool and as a result, we have made some changes to WAR. These changes will ensure that you will see a noticeable improvement to the rate at which you gain experience in tiers 3 and 4. We are currently in the planning stages for our next phase of experience enhancements, so expect more on this subject soon. In the meantime, we know these adjustments will make for an enhanced game experience in the later tiers as well as providing additional incentive for people to engage in open RvR action. Again, please keep in mind that these changes are only the first step and we have some additional changes/improvements to open RvR that we can talk about next week. Quest Experience Rewards * We have revised the experience awarded for completing quests in chapters 10 through 22. New Repeatable Quests * We have added new repeatable PvE quests to all tier 3 chapters (chapters 10 through 14). * The new quests offered in chapters 10 and 11 may be completed twice each. * The new quests offered in chapters 12 and 13 may be completed three times each. * The new quests offered in chapter 14 may be completed four times each. Skirmish RvR Experience * The experience earned for killing an enemy player in an RvR lake will be increased by +50%. I could tirelessly rant on into the night but those who are blinded by their zealous fanboism will continue to play the game. But hopefully I can reach out to that one person who was maybe on the edge about buying the game and discourage him or her from doing so. Why? If someone wants to try again you're going to troll them in to submission. Are they not allowed to form their own opinion on something or are you always this right? What I see is two overly zealous people hating this game. My self correcting you and everyone else plodding through and enjoying them selfs. Seriously if you didn't like it, that's fine. But while do you feel the need to reassure your self on this choice by trolling the thread?
MR_Candyman
Honestly I love this game. I still play WoW, I still play Eve Online, and I also play Warhammer Online. Warhammer Online is a great game and if I could only pick one to play it would be Warhammer Online. The quests are actually FUN instead of tedious. Despite what Magichat says, they always send you to another place to get quests. The quest locations show on your map too, making for a much easier time finding where they need to be completed and where they need to be turned in. 39 Thieves
Well, I'm loving WAR. Sorry some people get off in ****ing in other people's cheerios, but guess that's just the inherent immaturity of forums and being able to hide behind a keyboard. Just for giggles, for the two or so attention-starved individuals that felt the need to come in here and bitch needlessly, what games do you consider GOOD? Just so I have a basis of comparison. Tell me, other than WoW and WAR, what MMOs do you enjoy?

Magichat
With regards to spookie: "They do. That is only SLIGHTLY true for the pairing you are playing. when you run out of quest in that pairing the game offers no direction were to go from their and as such you pick up a bunch of quest in the war camp and try to work your way forward from there most of the quest are below your level and you have a feeling of being lost. With regards to the new xp increases: Good that is a step in the right direction and just shows that I and other players were right about how crappy the grind was. Now give us the hard figures of how much xp % was increased because I logged in today because of this thread and did a quest and still only got 3k laughed and logged off. I would say they screwed a huge chunk of the remaining population by upping the exp like that and not REDUCING the exp needed to level. For example lets take a 30 Black orc who has run out of quest in all 3 pairings prior to this patch. He now has to grind until he can do the new quest. Decreasing exp needed to level would have been the smarter move, while increasing the quest exp and giving a bonus to players over a certain level (Say 35) as compensation (But that would probably never happen). So even if they get the XP in line can we then start to address balance issues? Pet pathing? Mob Ai? Chain roots/knock backs? The Daoc window dragging exploit?..... The game simply still has a LONG ways to go. But hey I do like the new queuing system! Edited October 12, 2008 by Magichat

Sorry but no you're wrong. Quests do regularly send you over to other warcamps to investigate goings on and thus leading you to other quests. I'm not stupid. I don't need to have my hand held to reach every quest on the map. I'm playing an RPG I like exploring and adventure. Maybe you're more suited to say something more linear in nature like a FPS. :) With regards to the new xp increases: Good that is a step in the right direction and just shows that I and other players were right about how crappy the grind was. Now give us the hard figures of how much xp % was increased because I logged in today because of this thread and did a quest and still only got 3k laughed and logged off. Wouldn't know. Still waiting for the hotfix to be applied on EU soil. TY France and their **** poor regulations on working weekends. :/ I would say they screwed a huge chunk of the remaining population by upping the exp like that and not REDUCING the exp needed to level. I did 27-38 solo. I can say, hand on heart, I didn't run out of any quests. I did the odd PQ stage on my own for the bonus & the odd scenario. If you ran out of quests and had to grind a level. You're doing something wrong. :) So even if they get the XP in line can we then start to address balance issues? Pet pathing? Mob Ai? Chain roots/knock backs? The Daoc window dragging exploit?.....The game simply still has a LONG ways to go. Yes the game has issues, niggling issues. But none on par with AoCs release, nor WoWs release. Yes it's competing with a game which game out 4 years ago and we'd love it to be at the same level of polish. But that was never going to happen. Now if we were to be seeing no feedback from the devs and no immediate updates applied I'd happily agree that things are bleak. But Mythic actively talk to the community (hi funcom) with out being patronising (hi blizz) and we're seeing regular hotfixes almost every day and regular patches. I disagree. The future for the MMO looks bright.

But each player will interpret a game differently. The only quest I have encountered that sent me to the other pairings were the ones like go see how our dwarven brethren are doing, but once their I felt really out of sync. Perhaps since I was hopping to engage more actively in RvR I wanted the pve side of the game to be very linear. I know that on the server I play on and the one a friend of mine plays on RvR feels really dead Tiers 1-3 now that people are beginning to hit tier 4 there is some more RvR but like you stated earlier you almost took over the capital city because destruction could not muster enough players to counter your side. Maybe there latest changes with +xp bonus to realms with low pops will help it maybe it wont. Only time will tell.
