Just a quick poll, as I was just having a discussion with one of my friends about how 17" laptops are too big.

So c'mon, how big is yours? :p

Edit: as everyone else is being more specific:

12.1" HP TX2500

AMD Turion ZM-80

Windows Vista Ultimate

lg e300

13.3" (1280x800)

intel core 2 duo t5450

windows xp professional sp3

17" is way too big for me. actually, my next laptop will probably be even smaller, maybe 11" or 12".

14.1" (1440x900) here with Vista Business SP1

I can't imagine having a 17", that's what my desktop is for. On the go, 14" does the trick, but a smaller 13" laptop would be cool, perhaps my next one.

15"/intel dual core/Vista HP

17" is a joke.. waaay too huge. Great if you want a desktop replacement but wanna take it to the lounge every now and then but not if you actually intend to leave the house with it.

15" just about touches the limit imo.

Dell Inspiron 1720

17"

Core 2 Duo T7500 2,20 Ghz

2GB RAM

160GB HD

Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 256MB

Vista Home Premium 32bit (Soon Ultimate 64bit)

I'm using it as a desktop replacement, and I'm quite happy with the size (although it's a bit bulky).

Sager 5720

17" WUXGA 1920x1200

NVIDIA 7800 GTX GO

Pentium M 2.0GHz

2GB DDR2 533MHz

160GB HD

Windows Vista/Ubuntu 8.04

I agree with sentiment here that 17" laptops are just too large after owning this one. I will move to a 15" or smaller whenever it's time to upgrade.

Intel Pentium 120MHz

16Mb RAM

2Gb HDD

Windows 98 SE

:woot:  I mainly use it for old games that refuse to run on my current PCs :p

My previous (more serious) main laptop (it's not mine now though)

15" Screen

Intel Pentium III 900Mhz

256Mb RAM

40Gb HDD

16Mb Trident CyberBlade XP

Windows XP Professional

However, I'm currently working on getting a new laptop for myself with (hopefully) the following specs:

15.4" WXGA(GL)

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz

512MB nVidia GeForce 9500MGS

3Gb DDR2

320Gb HDD

Windows Vista Ultimate

But it's not definite though, I've requested it and I'll see what happens (getting it through work, much cheaper that way :) ).

Not exactly top spec, but has been a solid worked for the past three years without a hitch :)

I have the HP dv2753tx Special Edition laptop. 2.1GHz Dual-Core Intel CPU, and yeah. 2GB of RAM. Never remember the other specs; they're average. I only bought this for a capable laptop for University :)

I have 3 laptops:

1. an old Windows 98 Gateway 233mhz, with 30gig HDD, 352mb RAM that now runs XP (?)

2. a Toshiba A75 3ghz, 1.5gig RAM, 60gig HDD that runs XP (15")

3. an Acer that is 1 year old with an 80gig HDD, 1gig RAM, that runs Vista very poorly. I've tested a live Mandriva disk on the ACER and Vista is close to getting dumped.(14")

My main laptop is the Toshiba.
