I was really surprised this morning when I went on Gamespot and saw the whole design had changed to something square-ish and without all the textures they put in the old version of the site... so yeah, my position in the poll, you already know it, is "I prefered the old one"

Here's what they say about it :

  • Wider layout.
  • Contextual site navigation.
  • HD video.
  • Streamlined video integration.
  • At-a-glance game details.
  • Dynamic links for related games and related content.
  • Playlist-based video hub.
  • Community hub.
  • Friend activity feed.

And here's the look of it :

I'll let you judge by yourself, and please vote directly at Gamespot if you like or dislike...

(btw I'm surprised there's no thread yet about it... I used the search but it came up to nothing)

Gamespot need to stop with the paid reviews. That is what is destroying the site. I was a regular, every day visitor, but after the few "scandals" now I barely visit it.

On topic: The new design looks great. Much more gaming oriented (at least I see it that way).

By the way, if you want you could watch the WoW: WotLK live marathon tomorrow on GameSpot.

I don't see why they needed yet another redesign. The layout of the site is the least thing I'm concerned with. I'm more concerned with the shady review practices and thus the credibility of the site. That said, as similar as the design is to their old one, I actually like it. Of course, I won't be seeing all too much of it considering I've resolved to not visit the site.

To use its a hell of a load better, really like the new design. Only thing i do miss is the pros and cons review bit on a game review? i might be blind though... it used to have the pros and cons of each game on each game page, with icons... i dunno..

The pros and cons are still there, in the middle section of the page. The icons though, are in the right section, and we can only see the pros. Why, oh why are these things seperated? There's really something wrong.

Indeed it isn't wide enough on my screen either, my resolution is 1920 x 1200 (I know this is abusive, but a lot of people should have HD monitors now, maybe a smaller resolution though lol)

The best feature I've seen though, is their new video player. I mean, wow, it just fullscreened the thing on my Mac without a hiccup, when YouTube still doesn't want to most of the times, and 540p... wow! I don't know what kind of resolution this is... meaning that it's not really a standard IMO, but seriously, wow! The details are much more present and you can feel that they put some real quality in their videos.

I like it. I think it's a big step up, the old design seemed so cluttered to me. The new design seems a bit more usable. I'm not sure what the big review fiasco was about (yes, I am one of those evil "casual gamers"), but I still check out the site for release dates, synopsises, and things like that.

    • I have had a request since 2017 and so have many others that requested too and nothing has been done about it except its on our list to do.
    • I think it might be behind the trailer park amusements?
    • Some people don’t like them but plenty more enjoy what they have to offer. Check the value of the company.
    • Not such a great deal, Ultimate, which gives you full 5080 features is $181.99 CAD per month, that's $2183.88 per year, I can buy the 5080 for $1809.99 CAD, then it goes up to $279.99 per month after the first billing cycle. Typical cloud rental, costs more than buying the hardware.
