kak
SkyRacer - Yes, buy monoprice. The only time you'll have to buy the more expensive cables (on Monoprice) is when you have really long runs and the cable is certified for it [so your signal won't deteriorate]. gigapixels Veteran Posted September 12, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 12, 2008 MonoPrice = (Y) (Y) Their prices are low because that's all they need to charge for it (that's all any of the companies need to charge for the cables, they just want to charge more). All their stuff is excellent quality, including their HDMI switch boxes. And they have excellent customer service.
FizzyChickenBroth
+1 for buying cheap HDMI cables from Monoprice For those who are saying "buy component", you might need your eyes checked. There's quite a noticeable difference in quality between component and HDMI. You'd have to be legally blind or have a non-HDTV to not see the difference. Plug in your PS3/360 on component and then do it with HDMI. The component connection is by far much fuzzier. Another thing HDMI has over component is you no longer require a separate audio cord. HDMI can deliver 7.1 channel uncompressed audio through the same line where as the TOSLINK (optical)/coaxial connections can only do 5.1. Plus, HDMI can deliver DTS-MA and DOLBY TrueHD. The verdict: Stick with cheap a HDMI for multiple benefits and to future proof your audio connection if you don't already have a sweet receiver to utilize the sound. It is merely another option.
