Sony's Big Week

Recommended Posts

I know how these things work, I've been implementing them for the majority of my life.

Good for you

I still don't think the problem is at Sony's end. If they had servers that were bouncing off the roof with traffic they would reconfigure the routes etc.

That's done automatically

I think it's more down to ISPs

If a local server can't handle the load you're redirected to another one under less stress. The route to that other server however can be slow, and yes, you can blame the ISP on that. But that takes us to the first problem again, if the local server was able to handle the load you wouldn't need to use that slow route now would you?

I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying that it might also be a problem on Home's servers. That's all we can do anyway, take a wild guess.

Again, I know how load balancing works and that wouldn't take you down a 'slow route'.

This is a fault with ISP's and traffic shaping/management - I'm 99% sure of it.

You seem to be missing my point, I already agreed with you on slow routes being the ISP's fault.

But for some reason you keep denying the possibility that the 'local' servers can be overloaded in the first place, directing you to other less stressed servers, even though their accessibility might be affected by slower connections (ISP's fault).

And please, don't bother pulling ranks again, this is the Internet, no one cares.

'pulling ranks'?

I think he means talking about how you work with the subject.

But that's not the point, people are going away from the main point of the subject, if your going to talk/bicker/argu between yourselves about how thigns are done or should be done you could atleast go to a topic that was made for it.

Save us all a headache. :p

They should of put some of the features in home onto the XMB first. It is really stupid to make someone join another program before you can invite someone to a game. Also their beard selection still sucks. lol.

The beards really, truly do suck. That is why I have a creepy mustache LOL

I would love to know how you invite someone into a game without going into home first. Because in Warhawk you can't do it. It is something that needs to be on the XMB before they put it in home. It needs to be console wide instead of game specific.

erm, send a message via XMB?

You can't send an invite to another player to join a game you are in, in every single game. That is why they need to make it like 360 so you can.

Um, in every PS3 game, I can access the in-game XMB when a friend gets online, and send a quick message to them to jump on in. Maybe not an official invite quick link to the exact game, but then again, I don't play that many online games.

Yea I'm not talking about sending them a message to get into a game. I am talking about sending them an invite to join the game or server you are in. Like I said it needs to be set up similar to the 360.

Some games you can, some you can't... I expect the newer titles will have the ability to do this.

    • Brave Browser 1.91.171 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. Brave Browser 1.91.171 changelog: General Fixed Cardano not being disabled on upgrade to Brave Origin. Upgraded Chromium to 149.0.7827.103. Origin Removed “Survey Panelist” setting from brave://settings/privacy. Fixed P3A and usage ping under brave://settings/privacy being displayed on first launch on Linux. • Hi. As the title suggests, I can't access the forum on my phone. I'm using Edge on Android and when I try to navigate to the forum I get a "we value your privacy" popup and none of the buttons are clickable. It effectively stonewalls me from reading any forum content.
    • Honestly you're not wrong about AdGuard. Neowin frequently has lifetime license discounts for them and that's how I got my cheap family license a few years ago to run it on all my devices.
