When Cats Sprout Wings ...

Recommended Posts

While most cats are renowned for having nine lives, these moggies are clearly living on a wing and a prayer.

The cute little devils began sprouting bumps on their backs, which later turned into wing-like growths, during a recent spell of hot weather in China's Sichuan province.

One cat owner, known only as Feng, claims her cat's wings are a result of stress after he was 'harassed' by females looking to mate.

'At first, they were just two bumps, but they started to grow quickly, and after a month there were two wings,' she told Huashang News.

'Many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow.'

And while she says her lovable Tom is no devil, his wings, which contain bones, make him look more like a 'cat angel'.

But genetic experts claim there is nothing angelic or magical about the condition, which doesn't hinder the cat's quality of life.

They say the wings can form through poor grooming, a genetic defect or a hereditary skin condition.

Obviously people don't read the source so I'll quote it

I personally think it's evolution and not poor grooming or a skin condition (there's bone FFS). I wouldn't consider it a genetic defect either...

LOL! That's *such* a poor understanding of evolution that it's funny!

How so? How would a skin condition or poor grooming cause this?

Because that's not how evolution works. Evolution doesn't mean you can suddenly wake up with wings on your back or shooting lasers from your eyes, it takes a long time for these kind of things to manifest themselves.

evolution occurs over many many many many generations. Cats don't just grow wings because of "evolution" ;)

The irony being that genetic defects lead to variation in a population which allows the more adapted to survive better causing evolution.

    • BS, I've yet to run into a typical pc user that uses it at all, let alone half the population.

    • The site is pretty sparse on features / tech specs. Can I plug it into a PC/hone/Switch via USB-C and use it as an external display? If so, what's the virtual resolution of the screen, the refresh rate, PPI of the image etc? Is the text crisp enough to use for coding at say 12pt? Is it good enough for playing dark games, like say Path of Exile 2? How about fast games like car racing games? Just how do they expect anyone to order this thing without giving out all this info?
