Ive decided that i should invest in a HDTV to replace my aging Sony 14" tv which is about 10 years old. Anyway, i haven't been keeping up with this sector and have no idea what brand/models are the ones to go for with a budget of ?400-?600. Freeview built in is something id like but thats about it, im not too fussed about the size of the screen itself etc. Usually i sit anything from 3-6metres away from the tv and my main use would be for films and then tv after that if that makes any difference.

For around ?700 you might be able to find a decent samsung or sony 40'' 1080p TV
