Pidgin - Unable to connect to MSN

Hello,

I am running Pidgin 2.5.0 with GTK+ 2.12.8 on Windows Vista SP1 x86 and I am unable to connect to MSN. I am able to connect to AIM and Yahoo just fine, but every time I try to connect to MSN, I get this error: "Connection error from Notification server: Unable to connect."

I have a feeling it may have to do with my school's network. In order to connect, you have to install Cisco Clean Access Agent and then Symantec Endpoint Protection 11. It's a major pain to connect, and I have a feeling that that it may be to blame, but I can't find anything in Symantec's options that may resemble a firewall that would block access to MSN.

Any help?

edit: Just checked, and I am able to connect to MSN through MSN's web messenger service, but still not able to connect through Pidgin.

I've upgraded to the latest Pidgin 2.5.1, and still no luck connecting to MSN.

Are you able to connect with Windows Live Messenger? Maybe you need to enable/disable the HTTP connect mode in the options? has it been working before? anyone else can connect using your schools network?

Using MSN web messenger service is not a good test, that is just a regular website, it can get around anything.
