splicer707
DK2 is an old favorite game. Problem is that when I play the game, blocks of graphics are wiped to black. (Windows XP Compatibility Mode - Will not run in Vista without this setting.) So I have to turn off hardware graphics acceleration in DK2. Any help? Andre S. Veteran Posted August 29, 2008 Veteran Share Posted August 29, 2008 Software rendering is also my only solution for playing Baldur's Gate in Vista. It lags ( :x ), but hey it's better than nothing. You could always dual-boot XP.
HawkMan
As I remember DK2 or maybe it was just DK1, accelerated graphics was optimized for Matrox graphic scards. At least for some of the fancies fire/lava effects. still doesn't matter for this problem I guess. I think maybe I should grab my old DK2 disk
splicer707
Playing DK2 on software rendering is just not great. Time to dual boot Windows XP.
binge1993
I may have found a solution: First update DK2 to v1.7, you can find it almost anywhere nowadays. Then run DK2 in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode and as an administrator. When at the menu screen, go to options, graphics options and click on hardware acceleration so that there is no tick in the box. Restart DK2, and voila! No black boxes. :) DK2 is an old favorite game.Problem is that when I play the game, blocks of graphics are wiped to black.
