Buying MS Points

Hey all.

I'm looking to buy about 7600 MS points, the best value of which I've found by buying 2 4200 points cards for ?30 each here: http://www.theironsden.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000...tml%23a205#a205

What are people's thoughts on whether this is legit? The codes get emailed (which is good as I want them quickly). The other option is for me to buy 2 cards for about ?33 each from Play.com and wait for them to arrive.. however if the above website is safe then I'd rather get them here.

Yeah, I did look for reviews, couldn't find any.

I sent an email to the site, asking whether the codes are compatible with UK accounts, got a reply back within 5 minutes:

Mostly positive, although the 3 negative reviews mention "reported to ebay as he is fraudlent avoid at all costs"

^^99.5%positive from 665 reviews on ebay isn't bad. I've seen better sure but it's not too shabby either.

Seriously since points are region coded I wouldn't be surprised if many calling scam simply ordered them for consoles outside the region and the code then didn't work or whatever.

doesnt microsoft sell MS points, both instore and online ?

i usally get a 4K point card from either walmart or bestbuy, and i know they have them online to buyfrom Ms direct

MS do, but it's not as good value.

As I only want 7600, the best choice from MS would be: XBOX 5000 (42.50) + 2000 (17.00) + 1000 (8.50) = 8000 @ ?68

Which is ?8 more expensive for 400 less points.

Thanks cjb118, thats a great deal. Basically ?8 cheaper than this site I'm not sure about for the same amount (8400) and I know they'll be legit.

Just shame about the 7 day dispatch://

Just been working some stuff out.

Basically, what I'm buying with the points is the GH3 DLC.

This is the breakdown (maybe incorrect, I suck at maths):

TESCO

8400Points @ ?52.01 = 0.006192p Per Point

3 Tunes @ 500Points = 166.6667 Points Per Tune

1 3Tune Pack = 500Points = ?3.09

1 Tune = ?1.03

THEIRONSDEN

8400Points @ ?60.00 = 0.007143p Per Point

3 Tunes @ 500Points = 166.6667 Points Per Tune

1 3Tune Pack = 500Points = ?3.57

1 Tune = ?1.19

MICROSOFT

8000Points @ ?68.00 = 0.0085p Per Point

3 Tunes @ 500Points = 166.6667 Points Per Tune

1 3Tune Pack = 500Points = ?4.25

1 Tune = ?1.42

So Tesco's clearly the better option.

Do you happen to know if they sell the 2100 cards in the shops for the same price as on the site (ie ?13.97).

Just an update:

I was going to get them from Tesco, but decided I couldn't wait (I'm an impatient bugger), so I went ahead and purchased 2 4200 codes from theironsden.co.uk -- within about 5 minutes I'd got an email from the site admin saying they only had 1 4200 code available, and would it be okay for them to send me that and 2 2100 codes -- naturally I said yes.

Couple of minutes later, I'd received the 3 codes along with scans of the cards which I'd requested. All codes redeemed successfully, 8400 points available for me to blow on GH DLC.. :)

So the site is fine :)
