Sweet! Also, DLC updates are coming soon after launch and will be better than the Orange Box DLC time frame. Valve's also hosting dedicated servers for the game.

I hope you can do local co-op too... not just online. I'd prefer that for my dorm.

Split is a definite plus for those who don't have 360s, but their friends do.

The game kinda needed this anyways.

And of course, you won't have to connect to a dedicated server. You can do split-screen, you can play alone, you can do system link, you can do peer connection, you can do all those things. But if you go in the match menu and you hit quick match, it'll try to find you a dedicated server to play on.

So it sounds like there will be offline/local co-op (two-player split-screen) if I'm reading this right... if so, it's a must buy for me :)

does anyone know if it uses vertical or horizontal split screen? the only split screen action i saw on the 360 so far was army of two, and boy was that frustrating

From what I've read you have the choice of either.

@ Philip: Again, why does it suck? There is no other way possible to play a game on the same console with someone else at the same time (in terms of this kind of game). It is the only option. Why does it "suck"?

Split-Screen is awesome.

People hating it should buy bigger TV's. :) Maybe that's one reason of hate.You can't enjoy splitscreen on a small-a** TV.
