Fifa 09 - First Review In Gets A 9/10!

Pro Evolution had its chance and Konami/Seabass absolutely f***ed it up for us all. We didnt particularly care about authenticity, but now theyre just milking its past reputation as the best football simulation out there.

Why dont Konami sink some real cash and get the official FIFPRO Licence?! They have the money, they just dont want to spend it.

Fans pay a fortune for the game, PES2008 for PS3 was ?44.99! despite Seabass saying that "they never wanted to release the game in that state" yet Konami still slap a ?44.99 price tag on it, even though they know its shi*, that to me shows how much they value fans!.

They've done nothing innovative, Become a Legend is a Be A Pro rip off. They havent got any official teams which is a disgrace, im sorry but two teams dont count in my book, and the stadiums are horrendous, the grass textures are just plain poor!

PES2009 is basically PES2008 without the issues, its what PES2008 should have been, theyve basically spent a year polishing the game that they released last year. EA have spent the year innovating, Adidas Live Season for gods sake! its a herculean task, its never been done before, but EA have the money and clout to try something this adventurous.

Konami have done absolutely nothing, I used to be a die hard Pro Evo Fan, but since their PS2 version its all gone horribly wrong.

EA now have the best football simulation on the planet, and whats more, they thoroughly deserve it, because they have earned it.

I agree that Konami should add something meaningful to the game instead of just changing the menu/sounds every year, but hell - ANY version of PES is better than ANY version of FIFA by a mile.

People who like FIFA are failing hard in PES.

I like how FIFA fanboys (I'm a PES fanboy, woohoo) always say that FIFA has better graphics and has correct team names and logos, now, who really cares about names ? Are people that childish that all they care about is a brand ? Seeing a symbol on a shirt or seeing Rooney's name on the back ? People who prefer quality choose PES, others who prefer fail choose FIFA.

I have to admit that I loved FIFA 98, but since then it started to suck bad, of course it improved over the years, but with new features came new problems, so it never really got better, just got bloated with stupid features that I personally don't care about.

Oh, and you can't say that PES's graphic are bad either..

I've always liked Fifa better than Pro Ev, I just think they overall gameplay is better. Fifa 2008 was brilliant so this must be better :p

Indeed. That game was so bad that it may have just put me off of the PES series.

Fifa has been excellent since 07 if you ask me, its been very detailed and can be great for multiplayer. PES was just as good but their latest games havent really excelled much and theyre starting to feel a little basic

as much as i'd like for pes to have all licences that fifa has there's nothing konami can do.

fifa has exclusive licences on leagues, so konami can only get 2 teams per league, there is nothing they can do unless they somehow offer more cash than super rich EA...
