[Official] Mercenaries 2

Enabling the water effects on the PC version makes your FPS drop so much. It became unplayable on my HD 4850 @ 1360x768.

Were you playing the game at that resolution? Try dropping the thing down below HD and you should get better FPS. A game doesn't need to be in HD to look good.

Yea I am quite enjoying the game, the missions and just screwing around throughout the game. And of course the only issue is the resolution and graphics, can't wait for an update cause the game will then be pretty awesome.

Unfortunately, I was. I'm going to try the custom resolution launcher for Merc 2. Hopefully that'll let me play at 1680x1050 with the correct aspect ratio. By the way, the higher the resolution the better it'll look. Plus, my PC is fairly competent in terms of gaming. It should be able to handle it well at that resolution. In fact it plays the game at high FPS. It's just that as soon as I enable the water effects the FPS goes down the drain. It must be a glitch because it'd be pretty stupid for that small effect to be so demanding on my hardware.

The graphics dont bother me im more fore the gameplay, the ability to go freely anywhere is something alot of games lack this is a definite plus in my book. being able to destroy almost everything another plus. Bads, glitches too many to list, examples bad AI at times Guns are some times not available for when u need them, bombing runs are almost never accurate . This is the worst, When in a fight you can tell hows friend or foe, blue friend, red Foe, Sometimes... no matter who i look at they are grey. Also if you happen to run/drive/fly past 2 factions fighting and both are your allies one or both factions will shoot u without a hesitation even if you dont fire or antagonize them . sorry for bad grammar im in a hurry ,

love the sea of complaints about graphics and resolutions yet no ones talking about the gameplay. I got this for the 360 a few days ago and its a great we blaster. doesnt take itself too seriously and seems to me so far to be a ppretty straight laced but fun game.

Yea the gameplay is amazing, running around shooting and blowing stuff up, what more 2 say. I actually enjoy the driving in this game ALOT more then any other GTA game. I find it easier and more entertaining. I am about 35% complete at this point, can't wait to play some more today!

I've stuck with it and whilst my initial assessment has changed, it still needs work.

Collision detection is still weird - I get stuck by bushes and the most ridiculous things like my character can't run over a low step and instead has to jump etc.

Breaking up a supply crate is dangerous too - dunno how many times I've gotten trapped by the broken parts of the crate or been unable to reach the supplies because parts of the broken crate are in the way.

Also, I'm getting a bug where I request a supply and my helicopter guy responds but never appears on the map. I get no resource cannot be delivered warning and my fuel amount has decreased........

Same issues as far as pickups , Call for the drop , he would either come and hover but not pick it up or not show at all.

EA has said there will Xbox 360 and PS3 demos for Mercenaries 2 arriving any day now.

The sampler was due to appear on Live Marketplace last Friday, but, for one reason or another, still hasn't made its way onto the service. We suppose that means the demo could go live at any moment, which is quite exciting. Sort of. But not really.

The rather more predictable PS3 version, on the other hand, is expected in the weekly PlayStation Store update this Thursday.

Mercenaries 2 is already out on both formats, of course, but had a rather rocky time in Kristan's critical hands. He thought the openworld action game was dated and unremarkable, and stamped it with an off-putting 5/10 - certainly one to try before you buy.

Head over to our Mercenaries 2 review to find out more.

Was hoping they'd release a demo, been wanting to check the game out.

    • The problem of course is simply that government does not always know best. My point is that agency is taken away from the EU consumer in these cases. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that governments (politicians) are inherently good, and "looking out for me." Primarily they look to themselves and their own personal desires first, foremost, and always. When the EU or the DOJ fines these companies, claiming to "represent the welfare of the consumer," how much of these billion-dollar judgments are handed to the consumers they claim to represent? Not even a dollar, as I've seen. Yet the EUC lawyers who are paid to sit around and dream up these suits make huge commissions on the fines the EUC adjudicates, which is an ironclad fact I hope everyone is aware of. It's also rank corruption, of course, but that's another topic. Last, when the EU inflicts these judgments, or the DOJ, take your pick, the costs are bundled right along in the cost of the goods and services these companies provide the consumers they are "looking out for." If you are someone who believes his government is his savior then you have my condolences. I think Apple is right here, because the whole scheme of consumer choice is that consumers pick and choose among the products companies offer. Microsoft Windows is more compatible with third party software and hardware than any desktop OS on Earth, which is my sole reason for choosing it. Just because the EUC forces companies do certain things it knows the companies do not want to do, "or else", has no bearing on consumer benefit. This Siri thing is almost idiotic it's so infantile. But this is what the EUC does when the EU in Brussels becomes cash-strapped and needs a big infusion of cash. Some people get upset by "big companies" but it's the opposite when governments dwarf the size and scope of these companies, which is so obvious it hurts.... I mean you can't honestly believe that forcing Apple to do things with Siri it has its own reasons to decline is something that "opens up" Apple, do you? Say it aint' so...
    • Looks like many years since the request was made, a directory tree view finally may be added. https://github.com/files-community/Files/pull/18537
    • There's this from last year https://gist.github.com/threat...364659a8887841aa43deca4efd9 but nothing about a buffer overflow that MS somehow can't code against. No matter what, it makes sense to take a "protected by default" approach.
