Reason 1: AllTheWeb is the only search engine I know that explicitly displays an "Opera-compliant" logo. The logo shows up no matter what browser you use (it shows up on my IE6). It feels right at home when I find what I search for with Opera+AllTheWeb.

Reason 2: AllTheWeb is really an underrated search engine, while Opera is arguably an underrated browser. Everybody, especially the "open-source Linux developer" type of people, likes to make you believe that Google+Firefox is the absolute best search/browser combination.

I'm not saying Opera is better than Fox or AllTheWeb better than Goog. My point is, since we are using the relatively unpopular browser, it's cool and enjoyable for us to use the unpopular search engine too. It is currently my default search engine (replacing Google).

I have experience with almost every major search engine, and I think Google is the best, AllTheWeb is the second best (it's owned by Yahoo yet much better than Yahoo and Live).

It's interesting that Opera has no Alexa bar, while AllTheWeb has quite a low Alexa ranking: over 3000.

1: You like a search engine because it has a logo of your browser. Wow, that's a completely fresh point of view on engine comparison.

2: Google+Firefox is the best combination? Who said that? Why are they even related? Search engines work the same in every browser. Even text based ones.

3: It's cool to use the unpopular browser and search engine? How old are you?

And "Opera types of people" like to make others believe that Opera + AllTheWeb is "the absolute best search/browser combination".

I like Opera, it just doesn't quite fit me. I guess Netscape/Phoenix/Firefox feel more comfortable to be because I have used them for so long. Can't say I ever have gone around and said (or posted) that it was "the best".
