"The Amazing Spiderman" (2012)

Err, no? It doesn't matter if its the greatest movie in the world, you can't just reboot a series every time you get stuck or the original cast doesn't want to do it anymore. If you encourage this kind of crap the studios will just remake the same shows every 10 years.

Movies are supposed to be about telling amazing stories, not money.

hasn't James Bond been doing this for years?

Wow, I don't even know where to begin.

Movies have ALWAYS been about money. At least movies in the form that we know them. If you think otherwise, then I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Studios want their movies to make them money, just like car companies want their cars to make them money. I really hate to break this to you, but it's a business. While a movie will tell a story, and a car will get you from place to place, the businesses behind each want to make money off them.

Why should companies not be allowed to reboot a series or get new talent? Simply because you, Pc_Madness, a member of the Neowin community, says so?

But, I have to commend you on your thought-provoking rebuttal.

'Give it a chance.'

'No.'

That kind of logic has no place here. Get out. :p

^ Maybe not starting over, but each movie is a 'reboot' in a sense. Very rarely do the stories spill over between films. However I will agree Casino Royale was the first real 'reboot' of the franchise as it went right back to the beginning with different roles for the characters. Judi Dench for example is very different than in the others. I don't think Sony is bad for wanting to do this, while it may seem soon it'd be stupid to let the same director make another. He's made 3, progressively worse (imo) if they script was bad they were smart to pull the plug. Hopefully the new one won't be worse.

I thought (500) Days of Summer was AMAZING and original. I honestly have no clue how he would be at directing a movie like this, but Summer convinces me that he's at least worth a shot. Would be nice if James Cameron were still interested, too.

Found this, thought it was pretty funny.

Of course, I'm assuming (praying, even) this is some sick joke.

RUMORS ARE doing the rounds that ?Twilight? star Robert Pattinson may soon be on the schedule for the upcoming Spiderman movie sequel.

The 23 year old British heartthrob, who bagged a spot on the Sexiest Man Alive list by People magazine in 2008 and again in 2009, may play the role of Peter Parker and his superhero alter ego Spiderman in the upcoming fourth installment of the popular movie franchise.

The speculations stem from the recent announcement about Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi walking out of the project after doing all the three sequels of Spiderman movies. The move happened reportedly because of certain script problems, as the director did not find the script agreeable.

Although Columbia Pictures, the producers of the film, are yet to finalize the starcast and rope in a new director, Robert Pattinson seems to be the most preferred choice after his feat as a vampire in the ?Twilight? sequels garnered him much acclaim.

Spiderman 4, which is slated for a 2012 release, will chronicle the life of the webslinging superhero during his high school years.

Well think about it. If Rob Pattinson is Peter Parker, Kirsten Stewart would make an ideal Mary Jane, seeing the incredible chemistry they have together.

as much as I love kstew I don't want to see her biting her bottom lip everytime Peter whips out the camera!

Nah man, that's just her one facial expression. And she's such a great actress.

yeah before Twilight she didn't bite the lip, watch Speak and she doesn't do it once! but yeah she needs to stay away from the franchise!

J.J. Abrams reacts to 'Spider-Man' reboot

J.J. Abrams has commented on Sony's plans to reboot the Spider-Man film franchise.

Speaking to MTV, the Star Trek director joked about his reaction to the news of a new Spider-Man film.

"I think, as the director of Mission Impossible 3 and Star Trek 15 or whatever it is, I'm probably the last one to speak badly about a reboot of anything. So... 'Yay! Reboots!'" Abrams said.

When asked for advice on how the studio should approach the reboot, the 43-year old jested: "Definitely cast [star Trek stars] Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto."

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for seven more games as discounts continue by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe There's a brand-new update rolling out to Nvidia's GeForce NOW streaming service, and like every week, that means more games have received support on the platform. This week's drop has additions like Aphelion and Pro Cycling Manager 26 attached to it. Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active too. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Moreover, Nvidia reiterated that support for GOG single sign-in and game library is incoming this summer, joining stores like Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, and Xbox. "Connect supported game store accounts and stream titles with GeForce RTX power. Games that include cloud-save functionality help keep progress intact across devices," added the company. "Start a game on one screen, pick up where playtime left off on another, and spend less time managing installs and storage space." Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Embers of the Uncrowned Demo (New release on Steam, available 13) Pro Cycling Manager 26 (New release on Steam, available June 15) Aphelion (Steam) Citizen Sleeper (Epic Game Store, Free from June 18-25) Megastore Simulator (Steam) OPERATOR (Steam) Super Meat Boy 3D (Xbox, available on Game Pass) Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month, with extra time being purchasable in chunks.
