"The Amazing Spiderman" (2012)

Here is something that will make you all say 'I wish I had 80 million dollars to waste like these guys'

Yesterday, Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios confirmed that (500) Days of Summer helmer Marc Webb is going to direct the Spider-Man reboot. In reporting on the news, the Risky Business blog has some possible more details on the project:

Webb, who has options on two sequels, will now tackle a Jamie Vanderbilt script that sees a ?Spider-Man? movie that will look and feel very different from the big movies that went before it.

The plan for the movie is to be in the $80 million range and feature a cast of relative unknowns (so you can quash those Rob Pattinson or Gordon-Levitt rumors at this point). And the story will be pared down to center on a high school kid who is dealing with the knowledge that his uncle died even though the teen had the power to stop it.

The touchstone for the new movie will not be the 1960s comics, which were the inspiration behind the movies by Raimi, who grew on up on them, but rather this past decade?s ?Ultimate Spider-Man? comics by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley where the villain-fighting took a back seat to the high school angst.

Please keep in mind that none of this is confirmed and we may not know for sure until closer to release. Stay tuned for more announcements as they come in...

Im just gunna be the first to say 'SUCK'

That premise sounds more for a TV series than for a cinema movie.

Actor David Henrie has spoken out following claims he is to take on the role of Peter Parker in Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot.

Meanwhile, Clive Owen distanced himself from a rumour he is to play villain Kraven in the Marvel comic book adaptation.

He told The Coventry Telegraph: "That's the first I've heard. My girls would like me to do it though."

Henrie, who stars in Disney's The Wizards of Waverly Place told OK! magazine: "I am very blessed that the rumour is even going around and I am very happy about it. That would be a dream role for me.

"I think a month ago I saw something pop up on Google Alerts that said, 'David Henrie Might be the next Spider-Man' and it?s been spreading around ever since. I am just happy to read it."

The new Spider-Man, helmed by 500 Days of Summer director Webb, will open in cinemas in 2012.

Not another reboot!

I want to see a bit of character progression. Whats the point of watching anything when you know that 3 years down the line it will reboot and you have to go through the whole learning stage with the character again when you already know the outcome of their ability.

A reboot of Spiderman the way I posted it above is a formula for fail. A teen agnst movie vs a tested and tried superhero action adventure? Yep, ill go see a teen agnst movie... /sarcasm

Admit it, Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be a dream Spider-Man. Still, when his recent director Marc Webb was picked to reboot the franchise, we hardly dared hope the 28-year-old would get cast as teen Peter Parker. But there's still a chance.

While chatting with MTV JGL expressed great happiness that his past director from 500 Days of Summer landed the Spider-Man gig. But when asked if Webb asked him to play Peter Parker, JGL, didn't really answer the question.

"I've had some really cool conversations about what he wants to do with it, and I think it's going to be a really good movie."

We'd love to see JGL don the Spidey suit, but he is 28, and by the time this film goes into production, one can easily assume that he'll most likely be pushing 30. And even though he still has the fresh face of youth on his side, who knows if playing a teenager from the rumored Ultimate Spider-Man storyline is something this actor would even want? But we're still holding out hope.

yeah but I have faith Marc Webb will do well, he's a good director.

Very true but the idea of a teen angst movie just doesn't sell me. And the reboot, well, I doubt very much they could make it better then Raimi's version.

As people have spitballed casting ideas for Sony?s Spider-Man reboot, which will be directed by Marc Webb, one of the names that keeps coming up is Logan Lerman, soon to be seen as star of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Now some ?in talks? news comes from Lerman himself, who says he?s met with Sony about the film. What we don?t know is how likely Sony is to go for the actor, and who else is in the consideration pool. Lerman is 18, underscoring the idea that Sony is skewing a lot younger with casting this time.

Lerman talked to Access Hollywood and said ?It?s just, you know, conversations are starting. It?s a long process with the studio and the producers and everything. But it?s definitely a project that I?m really interested in, of course. I?d love to focus on the human element a little bit more. It?d be such a fun experience.?

Sony Pictures has confirmed that the upcoming Spider-Man reboot will be distributed in 3D.

The studio hasn?t revealed if the movie will be filmed using 3D cameras or be converted in post production. I assume the former, since the decision is being made during pre-production. The new movie which still remains untitled (I?m betting on ?The Amazing Spider-Man?), will begin production later this year directed by (500) Days of Summer helmer Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Sony has also announced a July 3rd 2012 release date. You can read the full press release, after the jump.

CULVER CITY, Calif., February 10, 2010 ? Spider-Man will swing into theaters worldwide in 3D beginning July 3, 2012, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, Chairman of Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution. The new film which is still untitled, will begin production later this year directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin will produce the film from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios.

Commenting on the announcement, Blake said, ?Spider-Man is the ultimate summer movie-going experience, and we?re thrilled the filmmakers are presenting the next installment in 3D. Spider-Man is one of the most popular characters in the world, and we know audiences are eager and excited to discover Marc?s fantastic vision for Peter Parker and the franchise.?

I think we're going to reach a point where all movies are made in 3D. Anyway, they should have done a reboot before the 3rd movie. I hope they do it right this time around. Also, I can't see Logan Lerman as Peter Parker. He seems a little "young" for such a character.

Spidey is meant to be in high school so he would fit the role

Marc Webb Meets with James Cameron to Talk about SPIDER-MAN 3D

As you have heard (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb will be directing the Spider-Man reboot films, and it was announced last week that Sony Pictures is going to take the story into the third dimension. They obviously want the next three Spider-Man films to be top notch 3D stuff, none of this conversion crap that other studios are turning to. So it's only appropriate that Webb met with James Cameron to discuss different ways and ideas that the Spider-Man reboot can be done using this new 3D technology.

The producer of Avatar John Landau was recently interview by MTV and here's what he had to say,

Last [week] we met the director of [the next ?Spider-Man? film]. [Webb] wants to do the next one in 3-D, which they?ve announced that they want to do. So, we want to try to support that as much as possible.

This may not seem like such a big deal, but if you recall back in 1991 James Cameron wrote a treatment for a Spider-Man film that he never got a chance to do, and Cameron was happy to meet with Webb to discuss the next Spider-Man film. Landau also explains that Cameron loved Webb's (500) Days of Summer, and gives a little more insight on 3D adding,

Other movies are turning to it now, some of which I agree with, some of which I don?t agree with. ?Clash of The Titans? is coming out in 3-D; they?re converting it very hastily into 3-D. I?m not in favor if that,. If you want to shoot a 3-D movie, shoot it in 3-D.

That's what I've been saying all along! I'm happy that at least Spider-Man will be shot in 3D. If Cameron has any influence what-so-ever on this next Spider-Man reboot that would be cool. But who knows what this next series of Spider-Man films will be like. I'm actually excited for it, mostly because I think Webb has got what it takes to give this series a new and original spin. As long as they don't cast Taylor Lautner! Only time will tell.

Well, Peter Parker is suppose to be high school. It can be in that setting and still have a dark theme.

Who says it's suppose to be high school. And no, you can't have it dark and in high school, not really.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2, urges IT admins to prepare for release by Usama Jawad Windows 11 typically follows an annual update cycle, but Microsoft recently broke that tradition a bit by releasing a "26H1" version in the first half of this year as a "scoped" build for select new silicon PCs only. This version was not available for customers using 24H2 and 25H2 builds, as Microsoft is busy preparing version 26H2 for them, confirmed officially for the first time. In a Windows IT Pro blog, Microsoft has urged IT admins to prepare for the upcoming release of Windows 11 version 26H2. The company has confirmed that this will be a small enablement package (eKB) that will simply light up certain disabled features that are already present in the operating system's code base. This means that the "refined" Windows update and deployment experience will be simpler and quicker, with minimal disruptions, as the feature update will simply toggle a few flags rather than performing a complete replacement. Microsoft has explained that this is all possible because the standard Windows 11 releases share the same servicing branch and hence, the same source code. However, this also means that Windows 11 26H1 users won't be able to upgrade to 26H2 as that is a different branch, but this is something we have known for a while now. Similar to previous annual feature updates, Windows 11 26H2 will offer the following support cycles: 24 months of support for Home, Pro, Pro EDU, and Pro for Workstations editions 36 months of support for Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise Multi-session editions Microsoft has not confirmed a concrete release date for Windows 11 26H2, but noted that it is "coming soon". If we go by the ongoing release cadence, we can expect it to begin rolling out in early October 2026. As such, IT admins have been encouraged to begin validating Windows Insider releases in the Experimental Channel, plan rollout rings, and strategize the utilization of their existing deployment tools.
