Dan~
Hello, Well I'm trying to make a windows server 2003 domain, i done it a few years ago without any problems, this time round i'm getting shed loads of errors. It started with me 'configuring' dns, tried getting one of my pc's to log onto my domain and it came up with errors. when I do nslook up i get the error "Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.100: non-existant domain default server: unknown address:192.168.0.100" also when I originally setup DNS I got the error "the configure a dns server wizard could not configure root hints" to configure root hints manually or copy them from another server, in the server properties, select the root hints tab" What I want is the ip address of my server to be 192.168.0.100 which is in tcp/ip, but what do i put in DNS in tcp/ip, how do i get dns server an ip address? Quite a lot of questions there, but to be honest, i have NO idea about DNS and it's really annoying me :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/666124-windows-server-2003-dns-problems/ Share on other sites
Guest
Just use 127.0.0.1 as a DNS server on the DNS server TCP/IP Properties page. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/666124-windows-server-2003-dns-problems/#findComment-589752812 Share on other sites
