8800GTS 512mb or 9600GT Golden Sample

Howdy all.

Wouldnt mind some input.

I am building a machine for my flatmate and got her a 9600GT 512mb Golden Sample but i am thinking i made the wrong choice and shouldve gone with a 8800GTS Alpha Dog as the 9600GT GS doesnt come close to the same FPS as my Gainward 8800gt 512mb.

Why is this does any one know as the clocks are close to the same. I can overclock the card a fair bit but im thinking hat i should just sell the 9600GT GS and get her the 8800 GTS 512mb Alpha dog.

I want her to have a card that will last a fair bit and in Crysis the 9600GT GS doesnt fair too great.

Thoughts? Did i get the wrong card and should i get the 8800 GTS Alpha Dog?

8800GTS G92 and 9600GT aren't in the same league as each other and the cards can't be compared by clock speeds. I'm sure you can google up the actual differences if you wanted to know.

The 9600GT was a budget card and the 8800GTS G92 was a high end card.
