Does "Muslim Massacre" game show a need for Internet regulation?

Recommended Posts

i think this will be the other thing. i believe the game is inevitably going to create popularity. the problem with this though is that it might give some non-muslim people some very anti-muslim ideas based on nothing which could spur hate crimes. (we can go into another discussion as to how people should be old enough to take responsibilities for their actions or parents should keep an eye on their children and so forth but the point is, since we don't have control on that, we won't have control on the increase in hate crimes.) just because you don't go on a killing or vandalizing spree doesn't mean that other people won't and the end result is just going to be senseless deaths and public outcry.. then retaliation and escalation of violence (remember paris suburbs in france?).

i suppose if you're okay with the potential consequences of this whole thing then sure, support the game and whatever but then you won't be in any place to bitch about violence in your neighbourhood should something happen.

I agree... What abt the millions of children and teenagers who are not mature enf to understand this? What is this guy trying to pull here.. create a generation of Muslim hating skinheads?

The fact of the matter is there is already a debate abt how voilent computer games are motivating the young to take up guns and try to emulate them and you throw racism in the mix we have one explosive mixture.. see the increasing gun crime in USA and increase in knife crime in London.. Media (TV, Music, Movies, Games, Internet) do have a definate effect on how children think and what they idealise..

Should be banned ASAP!!! If this was a game where you were Hilter/Nazi and you had to emulate the holocast.. that would be an outrage.. but here we are arguing why a game thats purely racist and hate motivated shouldnt be banned... disgraceful!!

I mean seriously what's the fuss all about guys!!

I mean were the Germans upset when we played Wolfenstein? Were the Vietnamese appaled when Battlefield Vietnam was released?

More proof that the hypocrisy that is religion will be the ultimate downfall of mankind.

Please forgive me if somebody already mentioned it,

but there was a flash game in which you earned points by killing illegal mexicans crossing the border (including pregnant women)..

The internet should be completely unregulated, if you dont like something, dont view it.. There are much worst things on the internet than a stupid racist game..

I think this is where those "parent" things come in. If you're going to let your kid learn about the world via video games, he's obviously going to be screwed up.

So if I came out with a game that say gave to 15 points for every Black Person that you can hang, you would not have a problem with that?

I believe the Racial Hatred Act comes in there.

I'd think you where an racist idiot to make the gane, unless it was mad as a satirical/sarcastc reflection of a world event/view.

but no, I can choose not to play the game, and I'm able to see that the black people you're killing are only pixels on a computer screen.

And there's many games where you hang black men, Most of the hangman games on the internet, use a line figure of blakc pencil lines on a white background :p

No I wouldnt. I wouldnt like it but I would ignore it. Incredible isnt it? ;)

I believe the Racial Hatred Act comes in there.

In the UK possibly. The Racial and religious hatred act was heavily modified by the house of lords so it's not as powerful as the the government intended but yes it could apply.

In the US however, there is nothing anyone could do about it.

And I would have to say the same about "Muslim Massacre".

Yes, that person may be an idiot but if you enjoy your right to free speech then you need to accept that you can not gag them.

I totally agree the the concept of the game is offensive. My entire point behind pointing out your signature is that it's not fair to say one thing should be censored just because someone doesn't like it and not something else that another individual takes offense. :) Feel free to keep the your sig at (the allowed size) and I will feel free to continue ignoring it. Isn't freedom grand? :)

If you don't enjoy it, then pay no attention to it and move on with your life.

Lets not regulate the internet please.

Thats true, any regulation on the internet would be a disaster. Its bad enough that the UK government are talking about logging every web request and e-mail sent.

Us swedes alreay have something like that on the way ;P

goverment wants to watch any communication going over the swedish border..*thumbs up*

Possibly but it still would be in bad taste. Probably would not sell in the Middle East. :)

Kind of like if they made a childresns TV show using a mickey mouse like character to tell kids that it's a good thing to kill non muslims... but that would never happen...

Freedom of Speech is to promote your thoughts and voice your opinions in any manner you like as long as it does not voilate the rights of others.

Hate jews? Great. Keep it to yourself.

Blacks suck? Awesome. Keep it to yourself.

Gays on your nerves? Teriffic. Keep it to yourself.

This is known as hate speech as im sure you all are aware of. You can talk about anything that you like, government, politics, finance, family , but the moment you start deviating to the intent of harm (whether it be verbally or physically) you are causing a problem in society. Hate will only be responded with more hate, and this will create a negative atmosphere for everyone. This is exactly why these laws were created. Keep your hate inwards and your positives outwards and society would be a much cleaner place.

Remember, Freedom of Speech is a privledge not a blank check for you to abuse. It has its limitations and its not "full freedom of speech or no freedom of speech".

Its no different than letting the KKK or the Neo Natzis demonstrate their views.

Indeed (Y)

Actually freedom of speech is that you CAN publically say you are gay, and you can publically say you don't like gays, or any else, without being arrested for saying your opinion.

It also means you have the right to hold pro gay parades, as well as hold legal anti gay, or anti Islam demonstrations. (notice the use of the word legal, there's a difference between legal and illegal demonstrations)

    • I think this will appeal to a lot of enthusiasts. If the thermals are similar to those of a single system in a compact case, many people running multiple systems may choose to combine them into one machine, provided the case footprint remains reasonable.
    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
