Dear god, it's so... beautiful! So... REVOLUTIONARY!

Oh wait, it's Windows Vista.

Partly agree. :/

ATM I can't imagine how this is the Major Windows Release that Microsoft is touting.

Windows 7 looks to have some nice interface fixes and the addition of the Ribbon bar on Windows Apps is pretty. But it's just far too similar to Vista.

So..what's the problem here? That is how they are moving forward so WE ALL have to get used to it..plus GUI changes come later, not this early...

..Vista has been nice to me, so I'm assuming 7 (I hope they keep that moniker) will be Vista + Steroids = Super 7. I hope I'm not wrong. :shifty:

That's because Microsoft aren't making Windows 7 a major release, it's just to add new features and fix a lot of problems Vista had.

It's a Milestone 3 release, your not going to see any major visual refreshes for a while. Go back and look at the early milestone builds of vista and see what they look like.

Much agreed with tsupersonic.

Windows 95, NT 4.0, 98, 2000, ME, and even XP in the early Beta stages all had a similar UI we now call Windows Classic.

Features, not UI. UI is just being cleaned up and being kept consistent. Also, don't forget, it's early days, more features should come soon.

I love the fact that everyone is completely overlooking the HomeGroups feature .. if it is what I think it is, it will totally rock your Windows world ^^

It looks like HomeGroups is like Vista's/WMP11's "media share" but better.

It's much more than sharing media though... if my understanding is correct, it's essentially AD but scaled down for a home network without a server.

I'm really excited since it sounds like I can now use a single profile on all of my home machines. No more need for a server box.

    • The level of stupidity at Google and Microsoft is beyond belief. All they are doing by killing this is forcing people to jump over to Firefox and ditch them all together, therefore giving Firefox the market boost it needs to finally crush them all in the end.
