-KJ
Hi all, I'm new to Vista and I like it so far; still exploring its features and found a type of folder item organization called stacks (right click menu in explorer). You all know what it does, it lumps all the same file types together into one icon/item. Well, I have a folder with a bunch of images and used the stack method. So far so good. I have a stack of .PNG, .JPEG, .GIF, .PSD, etc. I dragged the stack over to another folder but I get a shortcut to the stack in the destination folder instead. Wouldn't it make more sense for the items of the stack to copy over? Am I doing this wrong? I know I can double click the stack icon and see all the files there of the same type and select all -> drag and drop, but that shouldn't be necessary. If this were an intuitive process, dragging and dropping the stack icon should bring all the stacked items into the desired location, not a shortcut... Like I said, I'm a noob to Vista. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Edit: I might've posted this in the wrong section. Sorry! Thanks! :) Edited September 26, 2008 by psygn
ViperAFK
what happens when you drag it holding right click? does it give you an option to "move here" ?
Doli
That sounds like a good idea but remember that stacks also sort and display files in sub folders.
-KJ
Nope, just "Create Shortcut Here". I guess there is no easy way to just stack files of the same type into one icon and move/copy the stack elsewhere?
