Windows Live Hotmail Wave 3 Screenshots Surface

Got both of my accounts on the new look now :( One has been up since last week, my other account since today.

Must say i don't like it at all. The fonts are way to big. The ad-space is way more standing out now.

If i could, i would switch back directly!

EDIT: Got the font size fixed in my IE settings, looking much better now!

I cant use adblock plus now as im using flash player 10, adblock plus doesnt seem to support it :$

Microsoft does seem to be over the top with their ads, especially with the amount of profit they get.

Im not that keen on the new live hotmail UI, its slimmed down from the old one, but it feels too empty now and the fonts are too big. i dont really use it as my main mail client now though, i switched to GMX about 4 months ago for their mail collector features.

Firstly I have to rant that they are still tagging emails with adds for Live Services in outgoing email when sent via web interface.

I'm still waiting to get updated. :( Is there any possibility it could have something to do with the fact that I llve in Canada?

I am currently living in Canada and have the updated mail interface (but have the live.com email domain). Depends on what server your email is on.

bl122 Now updated.

My account currently lets me switch back to the old style by...

  • Login to Livemail / Hotmail
  • Click on "Windows Live" on the top right, will take you to home.live.com
  • Click Hotmail from that page. Your email now uses the older mail interface for that session.

Shame the new look hotmail does look like the other live services skydrive, live home, spaces etc...

Mine updated about a week ago and since then i have not been able to open my emails i can log in fine but when i click an email to open it it comes up loading down the bottom but nothing happens? I have tried IE and firefox both do the same thing. I have tried 3 different accounts and they all do the same thing. Can someone please help? I haven't been able to read my emails for a week and its getting really annoying.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
