madetokill
First off, I don't even know how it got disabled, but i found a couple sites saying that to enable the right click context box you have to go to the HKEY....CURRENT USER whatever and change the NoContextBox thing (Im kinda writing this off of memory so what I said isnt exact) from 1 to 0. well there are 2 places you can change this setting. CURRENT USER and something that changes the setting of to the computer as a whole. the current user had the field set to 1, i changed it to 0, didnt fix anything. the system one didnt have the field so i created it and set it to 0. changed nothing. I thought that when you changed the registry the changes are put into effect immediately, is my problem just that I have to restart to change the setting? sorry about not writing the actual fields up. MediocreNoob
Some things don't apply immediately. Try a logout-login. If that doesn't work then, yeah, reboot your computer.
redvamp128
If that does not work then try this site... http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Look for this one.. Enable or Disable Right Click Context Menu
Kami-
You'll need to restart Explorer once the edits have been made, you can do this by either: 1. Shutting Down &/Or Restarting. 2. Terminating the Explorer.exe process & then re-running it.
madetokill
Ok yea that worked, how about another problem I have. When I start the computer (its a customized e-machines) I dont get the boot screen, the monitor is blank till the e-machines logo appears, this is a problem because lets say I want to boot into safe mode, I cant because the screen is blank till the system is has booted past the safe mode/BIOS option menu
Kami-
In your BIOS (bash F2,F5,F9 & DEL before & during the logo) you need to set the logo to disabled. It's location in the menu will vary based on your BIOS provider.
