tiagosilva29
my work website that I have to use for employee information ONLY works with IE.. IEs4Linux, but you could also change your Firefox's useragent to one of Internet Explorer's or... (here's the big zing): knock at your developers' door and tell them to do a proper job. markwolfe Veteran Posted October 6, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 6, 2008 my work website that I have to use for employee information ONLY works with IE.. Our corporate website has only one item that I came across that I needed IE for (I have Firefox installed, and use that as my primary work browser). But one item can be a deal-breaker, if you need to frequently access that area.
ViperAFK
I knew it was out but honestly I am in the same boat. I have 8.04 installed on my dual boot laptop, and never used it. It was cool for all of 3 days, then I got bored with it so boot to Windows all the time. The only time I use my laptop is for work stuff, and then my work stuff either REQUIRES me to use IE or Office, and I just don't find myself wanting to use a program like openoffice or anything. My home pc I definately wouldn't use linux considering 99% of my time on it is used for Gaming. same thing here, I like messing with it for a while, bu I end up in windows 99% of the time because I use my pc for gaming and school. BoDEAN
If you have an older version on, do you have to do a clean format to put this beta, or the final release on? or is there an upgrade option?
markwolfe Veteran Posted October 8, 2008 Veteran Share Posted October 8, 2008 If you have an older version on, do you have to do a clean format to put this beta, or the final release on? or is there an upgrade option? Your update manager will notify you that a new release is available when it is officially released and is on the repos. It will ask you if you want to upgrade. brentaal
Firefox is starting in offline mode here Hm, sounds like the same old trouble I had with 8.04. Network-manager caused Firefox to always start in Offline mode, once I removed it (I don't even need that package anyway) everything was fine.
