Cancelled TV Shows 2008/2009

I just can't believe they brought out Knight Rider. Seriously, some things just need to be left alone.

Haven't seen anything of the Terminator show, but I can imagine that's not going too far either.

The 2 hour pilot was bad enough.

How I met your mother will probably end this season I bet. It was almost gone last year. As much as I don't like brittany spears, she ended up saving the show with the ratings that came with her guest appearance.

They won't cancel during the season if they do it will after the story is given an ending.

You are talking about FOX!

Fastlane's first season ended on a cliffhanger with no ending.

Firefly got axed half way through.

Many other FOX shows suffered the same fate.

Boston Public was axed in the middle of the season and nothing was wrapped up.

Ya i was watching it. Then one week I went to watch it and it wasn't on. I was like WTF.

I also liked the fox show "Skins" but they just axed that too. Never get to attached to a new show if its on fox.

Shows have been canceled after the very first episode before and not on Fox.

Chuck is a great show, I am not too sure about Heroes.

Heroes as you can see is listed as unlikely and thats because its to big to cancel even if it gets around 9m viewers that still good and the fanbase is immense.

Yes but it has turned into something that does not even resemble what it once was.

You say that but last seasons strike ruined something that would of been awesome just watch the dvd, granted tho the story isn't as good as it was but its still very good watching.

Something I noticed Lost isn't there but I assume thats because they are guaranteed a finish.

Is Lost being stopped?

It's interesting that all these networks cancel these shows based on the general US ratings, but surely the international appeal has to have some effect? They make huge revenue from sales of episodes to international broadcasters.

Thank god some of those shows are up their.

I could add a couple more to that "likely" list

What shows are those then?

That's a very good point, I had not thought of that!

Why do you wish a show would be canceled? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that others don't.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. Seems pretty simple.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
