[Official] Gears of War 2

Set up a private game and with a full party. That way you can retry if you guys all die in a wave. That way you don't have to keep search for games every time you fail a game of horde. Saves allot of time too.

small tips: when the waves start getting higher, you gotta start working as a team and stick with them. Your main priority is keeping your teammates alive, then it goes for killing for locust. Because when you get to the last levels, every one you can muster is vital.

Also try and not run around, but to use cover and fire from afar. This saves you from allot of fire and when your with a team mate or two, you can hold out together for a while. Then the other two can sweep the map for stragglers.

Use cover as much as possible. Place grenades on walls for a perimeter (each person can place 2). Always keep your Lancer and know who you can and can't chainsaw. Stick together in one group or two.

Up to 10 isn't too bad. I can get past 10 on my own on casual.

Yup, reached and completed wave 50 with 3 others in private yesterday..

I thought you in order to get the achievement you werent allowed to fail once and had to complete it all in one sitting :D

- Too bad it doesnt change map after failing, we played one map all the way through :p

I was playing Gears of War 2 a lot yesterday with Munky and I cannot believe how glitchy/buggy this game is. It appears to have more than Gears of War! It is so frustrating. The matchmaking is still awful as ever, it's been just over 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I do enjoy this game but would enjoy it a lot more if these problems were sorted! :(

Finally someone agrees with me :D

Got through all of Insane with a friend last night but sadly didn't receive the achievement for co-oping everything. Not sure how since I didn't touch that save file outside of when we played.

Any ideas?

same thing happened to me, i think it might be not sitting through the credits, havnt gone back to find out yet though

fair enough, well i saw it come up saying 28/29 on the progress bar the mission before last and i didnt get the achievement and skipped the credits, i assumed that was it

hmmm maybe its to do with difficulties? were you both playing on insane?

I got it when I was playing normal and my friend was playing casual.

So how long on average does it take people before they get into a match?

I finally got to play it for the first time yesterday, and it took me 5 minutes when I had a full party or 3 people in a party. That's ridiculous. Epic really needs to fix this damn system.

When I don't have a party at all I have YET to find a game, period. I've waited about 10-15 min to do so, also.

The only time I've actually played an online game is on release day with my brother and two of his mates.

I've tried about 8 times on my own.

With the next Gears of war there NEEDS to be an online beta. To make sure things like this doesn't happen.

    • If you don't care to read what I said, then you prove my point. Maybe written media is beyond your attention span. Titles are not summaries my friend.
    • Nobody asked... in fact, I said "I don't care about political leanings"
    • TLDR. Here is a far better title (just a basic example): Windows 11 26H2 to allow disabling Web search results
    • Restore will get my vote, only if to see if things are any different, doubt it though but Labour and Conservatives too out of touch and same thing over and over and over…, Lib Dem who?
    • There is nothing wrong with this title. You have completely missed the plot when it comes to "clickbait." The issue was never that a title tries to entice you to click, that is how titles have worked for over 100 years. The issue is when the title subverts expectations, getting you to click expecting something that isn't there. The classic clickbait example is "Boyfriend caught cheating, what happens next will shock you," then what happened next is the girlfriend was upset...which is probably the least shocking outcome imaginable. If sounds like what you want is for the titles to be a collection of 10-word summaries that you can skim, get the just of the story, and only click if you want more details. That is not, never has been, and never will be what titles are. You can go all the way back to print newspapers during the great depression and see the same thing. The newspaper was locked in a vending machine, all you can see is the headline, you choose to put in 5¢ to buy the paper and read the rest if you want. Those headlines were written in a way to sell the paper, not just to provide a summery. Here are two actual headlines from that time, "Wall Street Lays an Egg," or "Stocks Hit Bottom?" Maybe you'd say something like "it was wrong then and it's still wrong now." Okay, fine opinion to have, but it isn't like Neowin is doing something unjurnalistic, they are just following the age-old standards for written media.
