[Official] Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Recommended Posts

Been playing it quite abit and I have to say after the first world (in 3 acts, nutty acre) the x720 level is crap.

Theres something about the level design thats just big for the sake of it and in doing so it loses alot of platforming charm.

Really disappointing. They should have stuck to its platforming roots.

Where and when did you get it?

 that vehicles stuff is a total failure :(

Andy the thing is I really only want the orignal So I will probs buy it for the 1200 points its gonna be, but let me know what the new game is like I didn't enjoy the vehicles in the demo and I believe that they make up a large part of the game.

Plus you haven't given me a game on gears yet, mind you I am getting pretty angry with the stupid glitches on it with the random 1 shot shotgun kills that people keep getting on me after I hit them with 2 or 3 direct hits first and the chainsaw n00bs! I don't see how they spoilt the orginal so much.

Unfortunate about the reviews but I guess it was always a gamble. That said, some things like vehicle controls I heard people complaining about months ago so it's a bit sloppy to have that still an issue.

Still, I'll get the game in a month or two. I'm in no rush atm but I'd like to play it.

And on that note I hope Rare bring out a new platformer. I don't feel that it's a genre that has been fully explored and really it's one that hasn't seen a huge number of great releases even since as far back as Banjo Kazooie. Theres some but it's hardly at the saturation levels of some other genres. I'd like to see them take a shot at it again. I think Mario Galaxy showed everyone the genre is still very relevant and really it's an area the XBox is clearly lacking in. It was good for them to try something new, I'm not upset they did that but I think it'd be great now if they tried returning to their roots a bit. I mean it is the genre which in many ways put Rare on the map.

I also think a Banjo Platformer could be the perfect game to draw in the younger crowd. MS seemed to want Viva to be that title but in many ways I think the gameplay itself is more suited to an audience a few years older than the TV show and that is aimed at.

Woot, Game just sent me my Banjo arcade code :D At least I have one of my preorders today...kinda :p

/jealous. I'm so excited to play the original BK again. I vested probably more hours into that game than any other on the N64 except Zelda:OoT and I very much look forward to putting more time into it! I didn't preorder though (I'll probably end up with Nuts/Bolts as an Xmas gift) so I have to wait a couple weeks yet.

I saw somebody say on another forum:

I got my code to download the arcade remake of Banjo Kazooie today and was rather looking forward to running through this again but 4J studios have made a bad job of porting a 10 year old game!

The framerate grinds to a virtual standstill at regular intervals throughout various spots all over the maps, and Treasure Trove cove suffers particularly badly! This game is hardly pushing the limits of the xbox 360 hardware, looks a like a rush job to get it done in time. I'm glad I got it free and I didn't pay the 1200 points they are going to charge for it.

Has anyone else played it yet and experienced that?

edit; apparently it has major framerate issues running in 1080i or 1080p but if you switch to 720p it's supposed to 'fix' it.

WTF? It's 2008! Hire some god damn voice actors for your "next-gen" game dammit! I don't won't to read a mass amount of text when playing a video game! Rare has really gone down the drain ever since MS bought them or w/e. :(

Uhh, the characters in BK never talked. Ever. It'd be stupid for them to just start talking now.

Some games need voice acting more than others, Banjo is very text heavy.

The likes of Mario is not, there's not much conversation in Mario at all.

Half Life has voiced actors for all the characters so I don't understand the Gordon Freeman link.

I'd appreciate voice acting in Zelda.

Yeah god, imagine if gamers had to read while playing too, the horror

?

I have no problem reading, I said Banjo is text heavy and it's coupled with small fonts, something I forgot to mention.

It would've benefited from some good humorous voice acting, that's all.

And most 64 games had voice over dialogue? Why would it be stupid to replace walls of text with voice?

And most of those franchises continue to not have voice.

I honestly think it would just sound retarded to hear Banjo speaking English. I'd get over it pretty fast, mind you, but I think that would be one of those more subtle changes I wouldn't want to see.

Also, Rare has stated they're working on the text size issue.

    • Simple answer is yes, you will still get the Windows updates and as long as browser is up to date, you will be good. Only thing secure boot does is protect you against boot level threats and make it harder to install other OS's. I've been looking into this pretty thoroughly lately myself as wifes computer has secure boot disabled plus my other, older computers that run Linux, don't have secure boot enabled. Have seen all kinds of questions about this on the Linux Mint and MX Linux forums. Just don't suddenly enable secure boot now.

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
