[Official] Call of Duty: World at War

Recommended Posts

I am reading about more squad based online play?

Is that true, to what extent? I am reluctant to purchase the game because I do not know if it will bring anything more to the table than Call of Duty 4. If someone can persuaded me to get it...

For the past year COD 4 has been my main Lan Party Game. I thought about getting Quake Wars since it is more team based. I just want to know the extent of team based stuff in multilayer COD World At War has.

My opinion on this game is not outstanding. I tried to play single player but it just doesn't work for me. Its way too bloody. You can actually see a grenade blow open someones head. The blood is so real i get goosebumps.. As for multi player well that's better. But if you played beta, you will be disappointed. What does killing Zombies have to do with WW II?

If you ask me, cod4 is way better.

In case you don't know the cod series are made bye 2 publishers : Infinity Ward and Activision.

Call of Duty 1: Activision = Failure

Call of Duty 2: Infinity Ward = Huge success

Call of Duty 3: Activision (not for PC) = Total Failure

Call of Duty 4: Infinity Ward: Complete success

Call of Duty 5: Activision = Well follow the pattern!

Um no. Activision have published all the CoD games, and Infinity Ward or Treyarch have made them all.

CoD1, 2, and 4 were made by Infinity Ward. While CoD3 and 5 were done by Treyarch.

err wrong.

Activision are the Publishers of all the COD series. The 2 designers of the games are Infinity Ward and Treyarch.

But Fill in Treyarch on all the lines you have Activision and yeah.. You are right, but just wanted to make that correction.

And yeah United Offensive wasn't bad either.

There is far more developers who have worked on COD than just IW and Treyarch :p See post above!

I bought Call of Duty: World at War Collectors Edition and here is my review;

The game itself is awesome. Very realistic with actual bodily damage being shown. Though it's a bit too realistic in the multiplayer concerning the weaponry. It takes almost an entire clip to kill a guy on multiplayer. By the time I get artillery, I am already scrambling to find another weapon or ammo. The single player is awesome, love the flamethrower. What I hate though is that the grenade indicator shows up too late or doesn't show up at all, so I am going "WTF" half the time.

The Collectors Edition is another story. It's a waste of $20! It's pure bull**** and an example of false marketing.

The CE comes with;

- Call of Duty Canteen (Not intended for drinking)

- Unlocked lvl 45 FG-42 weapon (I think, I am at school so I don't know the actual weapon)

- Customizable Clan tag

- Week of double XP

- Storage tin with custom artwork.

Now here is where the problems start;

- Canteen is actually a tin with cap welded on and horribly engraved "Call of Duty", therefore it's paperweight, even for a collector.

- FG-42 is unlocked, ONLY in pre-made classes. To use it in custom classes you have to go up to lvl 45.

- The clan tag IS NOT customizable. It simply changes colour to a barely noticable gold, in addition, this Gold colouring doesnt even show up some games. My friend confirmed this for me.

- Week of double XP.... not yet. They have not stated this week of double XP yet and have stated "until a later date".

- Storage tin my ass! Yes it is a storage tin, unfortunately the foam that was used to hold the canteen is GLUED into the storage tin. Therefore only 1/6 of the tin can actually be used for storage.

Well my point is that cod5 sucks lol...

It just isnt the cod series style. Way too much blood.

Sorry I had to laugh when you said it isnt COD because it has to much blood. You do know there is an option to turn the blood/gibs off right?

The only publisher is Activision. There are two developers working on CoD. Infinity Ward and Treyarch. CoD/2/4 were made by Infinity Ward and CoD3/5 by Treyarch. I currently don't have CoD5, but from the past 4 games, CoD4 is the best.

Seems to me most of the people that don't like this, don't like it because of the gore. I would like to know: if that gore wasn't there would it be a good game? I'm asking because no amount of gore is going to bother me and I just want to know about the game play/mechanics. Is it good or not? Try to look beyond the gore and give and informed, honest answer please. Does it stack up at all to the last one?

Yeah the funny part is, most people bitch about not having ENOUGH gore in a game.. Unrealistic blood/guts/etc.. It's actually quite funny.

Completed the game. I only just got it this morning, but I have been playing almost none-stop so it took about 5-6 hours. Pretty short, but the multiplayer is where it's all at. Anyone who buys CoD purely for the single player is.... not human. Although it was very fun, it felt alot like a CoD game unlike CoD 3. Treyarch have really done themselves justice with this game.

I just wish more people would host Domination servers on the PC, all servers seem to be TDM or S&D. I hate S&D with a passion, and I sometimes want something more than just TDM.

Well unlike COD4, I actually finished COD5.. cod4 wasn't bad but it was boring.. after a couple of levels in COD5 they started to up the pace and it was very fun. The battles were intense and it was a quite immersive. The blood, guts, limbs flying off & heads splitting open was a great addition to the game, so much more fun. I was sceptacle at first but it grew on me and I would recommend it except the campaign is too short, unless you're into multiplayer.

    • Did you see their FAQ, its quite good. Have a look in the Advanced section. https://delta.chat/en/help
    • Just install Linux Mint that is a real blessing and many times cheaper because you can continue using your old Windows computer/laptop with the latest Linux updates.
    • Interesting share -- however it does not make sense: Email messages get stored somewhere, so how is Delta Chat "based on email" and decentralized without actually storing anything? By Web3 standard practices, the various Relays would require dedicated storage to make messages available to the recipients (like a large series of message queue channels, akin to racks of traditional post office boxes)... and Contacts must be two-way confirmed in order for encryption keys to be exchanged (ostensibly every key-pair is uniquely bound between sender and recipient) and the Relays would preserve the public keys in order to facilitate message carriage... or every device stores all sorts of keys and contact info. All of this to say, decentralized messaging is like running Bluesky nodes except instead of discovering/browsing public feeds by various posters (at the given node) these Delta Chats would be relaying encrypted messages (via Relays) that only trusted recipients would have the appropriate decryption key (their own private key) to read it. But this doesn't solve the "it's like email" sales pitch. The only way it's like email is that there's encrypted binary stuff being transported from your app into the federated ether of Delta Chat Relays for others to decrypt (hopefully only the intended recipient)... but outside of this federated relays framework, it is absolutely nothing like email.
    • Hasleo Backup Suite Free 5.8.2.2 by Razvan Serea Hasleo Backup Suite Free is a free Windows backup and restore software, which embeds backup, restore and cloning features, it is designed for Windows operating system users and can be used on both Windows PCs and Servers. The backup and restore feature of Hasleo Backup Suite can help you back up and restore the Windows operating systems, disks, partitions and files (folders) to protect the security of your Windows operating system and personal data. The cloning feature of Hasleo Backup Suite can help you migrate Windows to another disk, or easily upgrade a disk to an SSD or a larger capacity disk. System Backup & Restore / Disk/Partition Backup & Restore Backup Windows operating system and boot-related partitions, including user settings, drivers and applications installed in these partitions, which ensures that you can quickly restore your Windows operating system once it crashes. Viruses, power failure, or other unknown reasons may cause data loss, so it is a good habit to regularly back up the drive that stores important files, you can at least recover lost files from the backup image files in the event of a disaster. System Clone / Disk Clone / Partition Clone Migrate the Windows operating system from one disk to another SSD or larger disk without reinstalling Windows, applications and drivers. Clone entire disk to another disk and ensure that the contents of the source disk and the destination disk are exactly the same. Clone a partition completely to the specified location on the current disk or another disk and ensure that the data will not be changed. File Backup & Restore Back up specified files(folders) instead of the entire drive to another location to protect your data, so you can quickly restore files(folders) from the backup image files when needed. Incremental/Differential/Full Backup Different backup modes are supported, you can flexibly choose data protection schemes, which can improve backup performance and save storage space while ensuring data security. Delta Restore Delta restore uses advanced delta detection technology to check the changed blocks on the destination drive and restore only the changed blocks, so it has a faster restore speed than the traditional full restore. Universal Restore This feature can help us restore the Windows operating system to computers with different hardware and ensure that Windows can work normally without any hardware compatibility issues. Hasleo Backup Suite 5.8.2.2 changelog: Improved creation of bootable media that supports the UEFI CA 2023 certificate Fixed an issue that caused system restore to fail Fixed an issue where file backup could not list drives under Windows ARM64 Fixed an issue that caused backup of MacOS files/folders shared via Samba to fail Fixed an issue that caused "Smart Backup" to not work properly Fixed other minor bugs Download: Hasleo Backup Suite 5.8.2.2 | 39.7 MB (Freeware) Links: Hasleo Backup Suite Website | Hasleo Backup Suite Guide | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
