Er...they were completely redesigned.

Yes, they where redesigned, but they do look the same now. MBP are bigger only because of the display, but everything else is the same. Except for the better GPU and larger LCD and slightly faster CPU, nothing else differentiate the two.

Does desktop Mac Pro have a Mini Display Port?

That cool new 24" LED LCD only have a mini display port adapter.... So it's impossible to use on almost all current PC.... Except the new Macbook, MBP, MB-Air.

The Mac pro doesn't have a Mini Display port

we'll have to wait for a 3rd party adapter.

Looks like Apple's switchable graphics solution has a dirty little secret: http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/14/macbook...graphics-modes/

It requires you to log out for the graphic modes to change. I can't imagine what the Windows drivers must be like (did they release them yet?).

Only now I realised that the new MacBook line look very much like the Alienware M15x in terms of design. Concerning the price, it is too much and I feel Apple has shot themselves in the foot right now, what with the economy being unstable at the moment.

Scirwode

yes, to be honest the success of the previous Macbook had alot to do with its price. It was pretty much the maximum price most students could afford to pay for there laptops... with these new $1299 lowest models, its not exactly the cheapest for most students. You have to factor in AppleCare on top of that plus taxes which shoot you in both ass cheeks.

I think Apple would've been best off to have the $999 model with the same specs as the "new" plastic model, but in the new aluminum enclosures, with all the LED and goodies in the new Macbook models.

Now that would easily be the best selling Macbook. Most people waiting for a new aluminum Macbook were waiting for a re-design, not a price hike. It's going to be interesting to see how well these sell in a few months... sales will be great initially for sure, but the price isn't viable for your average student, which is the market Apple is trying to secure.

Apple is shooting themselves in the foot with the basic plastic MB.

Only 1GB of RAM and small HD. Not to mention outdated graphics.

There is no reason why they could have not upgraded to the intel 4500MHD, but 2GB of RAM in it and a 250GB HD for $999.

Its a complete rip-off now.

Buy a Lenovo T400 for the same price with a P8400, 2GB DDR3 and a 250GB HD. Not to mention much better battery life

    • Microsoft should never have purchased anything after RARE.
    • Call of Duty: Vanguard, EA Sports FC 26, and more come to Xbox Game Pass by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft is in the process of making some big changes to Xbox Game Studios right now, which might include studio shutdowns, but Game Pass drops aren't pausing for that. The second wave of June was just announced, unveiling another Call of Duty addition, the latest soccer game from EA, an indie road trip hit from last year, and more. While Microsoft said it won't put Call of Duty titles on Game Pass on the day of launch anymore, older titles keep landing, with the latest one being 2021's Call of Duty: Vanguard. Here are all the games that were announced today for Xbox Game Pass, their platforms, and arrival dates: Junkster (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – June 16 Call of Duty: Vanguard (Cloud, Console, and PC) – June 17 EA Sports FC 26 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – June 18 Abyssus (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – June 25 RV There Yet? (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – June 30 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – July 2 Winds of Arcana: Ruination (Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC) – July 6 From the bunch, Junkster is the sole day-one drop into Game Pass libraries of this selection. As new games arrive, eight will be leaving the Game Pass programs on June 30. Here's the full list of leaving titles: Mecha Break (Cloud, Console, and PC) Payday 2 (Console) Rise of Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC) Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC) Slay the Spire (Cloud, Console, and PC) Ultimate Chicken Horse (Cloud, Console, and PC) Volcano Princess (Cloud, Console, and PC) Unpacking (Cloud, Console, and PC) With June drops finished, Microsoft should have a new Game Pass announcement in about two weeks to reveal the first wave of games coming to subscribers in July. Already confirmed games for the month include the Halo: Campaign Evolved remake, Corsair Cove, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, and Mistfall Hunter.
