I don't understand how you can have a poll like this without The Matrix. I possibly would have still picked The Lord of the Rings, but The Matrix has to be there as an option.

Easy. The Godfather. Even if Part III was bad, which it most certainly isn't, this would still probably make the top five just for the sheer perfection of Part I and brilliance of Part II. As it is, Part III is great (though it goes without saying it's infinitely inferior to the first two) and the three make the best trilogy ever!

Second is either Indiana Jones or Star Wars, I think I'll take Indy.

And yeah I forgot about Terminator. First two were jaw-dropping. Third was entertaining fluff.

Yes, I?arritu planned them as a trilogy.

But they aren't in the traditional 'one movie with two direct sequels' kind of trilogy... which is what I think the thread starter means.

Also, remove Terminator, it's not gonna be a trilogy anymore after T4. (mind you, T3 is skipped in the timeline, so confusing...)
