Google Earth's new satellite sends its first image

They have had the same image of my street for 3 years..... half of the buildings are no longer there but show up on the map.

What on earth happened to your street?

Why can't they get the Hubble Space Tellescope for some high quality images.

It wouldn't be better, it would likely be a lot worse. Hubble isn't suited to such image taking.

Oh wow... my street looks SO much better in Live Search maps. I thought they both used the same images, but this is so much better then Google Maps

and you can click the directional arrows (N, E, S, W), and it will show it from a completely different angle. When Live maps are available its many many many times better, why people like those **** pictures from google, i have no idea.

stalkervision?

More like Enemy Of The State :shiftyninja: .

Scirwode

Wow Live Earth is amazing. I was amazed by birds eye view and then i realised you can rotate it aswell! Bye Google Earth and Google Maps!

How do they get these birds eye images? Contract loads of helicopters to take loads of pictures for them? I mean my town is pretty small and didnt expect them to have such detailed images!

Wow. Only if the rest of the world would have such quality!

That post made me LOL. Just thinking about it, as if we no longer see the world through our own eyes..

I know what you meant by it though.

Now if i can just control it using my arrow keys and get a live video stream...

That would be awesome! It'll never happen though. It would be great for traffic though. Sit at home and just watch it.

Although I want one of these pictures but I want it the best it can, zoomed in ALL the way!!! They say how good it is but they wont post a picture of it all the way it. The University picture they have isn't zoomed all the way in.

Why can't they get the Hubble Space Tellescope for some high quality images.

probably because the hubble focuses far into space and uses other sensors, like xray, and so on....less you want hq pictures of you without clothes.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
