ultramoog
I currently have a all-in-one printer/scanner and need to scan alot of photos so I can store them on DVD. The dpi of my scanner now is 600x1200. I've been looking at the Canon Canoscan Lide 25 (1200x2400 dpi) http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_fi...ide25/index.asp and was wondering if this is any good? trashpickinman
I have the same model. Scan time for full page with regular settings is about 57 seconds, I just measured. I've never compared the quality to other scanners, but pictures are ok, and text is fine. I do like the fact that it is powered directly from the USB port, no other wall warts to plug in. Its obviously not the greatest, but I'm just using it for basic stuff. hawker1986
Ive always used HP scanners and have a Scanjet G4010 for my scanning atm. Its great and I would recommend it to someone looking for a high quality scanner, works fine with vista 64bit also. Its a bit more pricey than the canon though, but has a higher resolution. But I suspect the canon will do the job just fine too and thats a good price for a flatbed scanner.
