Anyone have any luck with an eSATA cable?

Recommended Posts

I purchased one off Newegg a few months ago and it was utter crap. It kept disconnecting/reconnecting on me which would cause my computer to "hick-up." Is it worth trying again with another cable? I'm about to order some stuff on Newegg and am considering it again.

You're in the majority thinking that but the minority of being correct.

In other words you're wrong. Wires, shielding, connectors, they all have varying degrees of quality.

Higher quality cables cost more to produce because they go through better quality checks and/or better production and construction methods.

I've had some cheap internal SATA cables that have been useless. Constant data corruption/windows crashing, etc. It took me a while to find the cause of the crashing - a simple replacement cable (of higher quality) sorted absolutely everything.
