nice dude! just saw this on the steam forums too people say it works. I have a similar speed processor (2.9ghz 5600+) and I'll have to try this. I also have a creative sound card as well (audigy 4)

where do i type in the command lines

/noob

the easiest way to use command lines is to go into C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV and create a text file called 'commandlist.txt' then in there just place in the two command lines, save the file and your set

Aye BusDriverUK is me lol

May i suggest a re-format. That folder is an important system folder and your Windowz will not work without it.

roflcopter

Run it at 720p on medium like the xbox or 640p like the ps3. Your frame-rates should be fine (30fps). The XBOX or PS3 could not handle the game at the settings you are trying to run it.

changing the res does absolutely nothing for my frame rate. My video card is more powerful than both the xbox and ps3's. my video card is not the problem the game is simply poorly optimized for anything less than 3+ cores. this game is purely cpu limited.

I'm getting quite ticked off, first it doesn't allow me to use command lines because I have to launch through Social Club and how the hell do I use my Logitech controller in the game?

Please help!

Can't help you with your second problem (maybe only suggest you to buy a XBOX360 gamepad?), but I've read on the net about the first. Just create a "commandline.txt" in the folder where you installed the game to and put the wanted commands there.

That will make the commands work upon the game launch.

There is a way of getting other gamepads to work with this game, just have a look around for the solution (www.gtaforums.com has the solution there)

Just got this today. I find it playable so far on my pc, it runs better than crysis did.

What texture quality and res you on?

Video Mode

Resolution scaling effects water, reflections, shadows, mirrors and the visible viewable distance. The resolution settings relate to the amount of available video memory. At 2560*1600 the game will require 320MB of video memory in addition to all the memory required for content. At 800*600 the game will require 32MB of video memory in addition to the content. Medium resolution settings are recommended for most users as higher settings are only usable if there is available video memory.?

Texture Quality

Texture quality affects the visual quality of the content of the game. High setting for textures will require 600MB of video memory at a setting of 21 View Distance in addition to the memory taken by the Video Mode. A medium texture setting is recommended for most users.?

so 1920x1200 and High texture, should be possible for 2x 3870 512mb in crossfire mode.

btw I have a question, on my quad core q6600 it only utilized one core, is that normal? if yes, why it recommend quad core cpus?

    • You can enable the Nova redesign in Firefox 152, under about:config
    • As long as Manifest v2 extensions keep working. I always enable compact mode from about:config. I hope I won't have to switch to LibreWolf or WaterFox anytime soon.
    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
