It's funny because when I watched Iron Man (The Cartoon) on TV in the early-mid 90's I never really liked it. The premise wasn't great and it never lived up to X-MEN.

But now that its gone live action and hit the big screen I'm completely loving it.. I loved the first movie I await the sequel with a childlike jubilation.

I'm not sure if its just the idea of a super genius creating a kick-ass suit to reign down on anyone he don't like or simply the playboy lifestyle brilliantly presented by Robert Downy Jr but the whole thing is awesome. A lot of people say 'The Dark Knight' was the best film of last year but I really preferred Iron Man.

I'm torn between the two, both are 5 stars imo. Ironman was much more entertaining, it was a great movie. Dark Knight was a spectacular work of art, the music, the acting, writing, cinematography, it was a great film. I wouldn't say I enjoyed Ironman more, but I left the theater happy and very satisfied. I left Dark Knight pretty much in silence just thinking about all the different scenes and what happened in them.

Regardless RDJ's performance as Tony Stark is unreal, he's the guy the comics were writing about :)

The ever-increasing cast of Iron Man 2 already includes Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau (who, of course, also directs), MIckey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling and John Slattery, but it landed two more names today, in Kate Mara and Clark Gregg.

Mara, who you may remember from Brokeback Mountain (as Ledger's character's daughter) or Shooter, plays a character who's still under wraps. Looking at her, we're kinda wishing she was a little bit older and had been cast as Mary-Jane in Spider-Man, but we don't know who she's playing here.

Gregg, however, returns as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, having taken time out in between to direct Choke.

Iron Man 2 takes place "six months after Stark revealed his identity as Iron Man" at the end of the first movie. Favreau explains that the story this time will indeed involve a little bit of that public relations crisis. "How many superheroes are open about their true identities?" Favreau asks. "We wanted to play with that idea. But it obviously has consequences ? in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore." As for the villain(s) or how much we'll get to see of S.H.I.E.L.D., Favreau won't be talking about that.
