If Lesnar defeats the winner of Mir-Noguiera, I think the chances of him fighting Fedor are slim to none. If Fedor loses to Arlovski that slim to none changes to nil. It's not impossible that such a fight would happen. Nobody but the people who would be involved really know, and I'd love to eat my words. But I don't see a UFC champion vs Fedor unless Fedor signed with the UFC. Fedor has about a year left and three more fights on his contract with M-1. If Lesnar is still champion by then maybe we'll see the fight.

I look forward to Dana White's response to this article. I'll be surprised if it does not contain trash talking about Fedor, even more about Affliction and/or M-1, many expletives in between, and the obligatory shot at Kimbo Slice even though he's not involved.

Sylvia is past it. Lesnar would destroy Sylvia. So there's no comparison between Fedor v Sylvia and Fedor v Lesnar. Lesnar would last longer, I'll tell you that.

Fedor doesn't have many options after Arlovski. Barnett is the only real challenge, and in retrospect, I think Barnett is a fantastic challenge for Lesnar. Not only will he have the size to potentially nullify some of Lesnar's size, but his shoot wrestling and submission game isn't aimed at making you go on the defensive so much, it's more aimed at putting pressure on joints and making you really feel pain. That's shoot wrestling submission MMA from Josh Barnett. I do think Barnett has significant weaknesses standing, but his submission game is about working on joints, and Lesnar definitely shows he has zero understanding of leaving limbs open.

In the end, Fedor will crush Arlovski and Lesnar has the potential to beat Mir or Nogueira. Big Nog hasn't looked great in his previous fights. Sylvia was the last fight he really put his signature on, by waiting out the Goliath. He'd have to do the same against Lesnar, but can he withstand a beating like he did against Bob Sapp back in PRIDE when Sapp wasn't a complete idiot and crying on the floor in 20 seconds? Nog's chin seems to be getting weaker, but still is fantastic at recovering. It'd be an interesting battle. I think Mir is in for a fight considering both have great jiu-jitsu, but Nogueira's boxing is essentially some of the best at heavyweight. Not a whole lot of power, but scoring punches counts.

I do gotta say though, that if Fedor was really concerned about being called the top heavyweight in the world, he would have signed with the UFC. It's common knowledge that they have the strongest fighter roster of any MMA promotion, and his seeming unwillingness to come to the cage is telling of a possible lack of confidence.

He probably looked at all the other fighters that came from Pride that struggled in the cage.

Yeah, Lesnar's still learning so I guess instead of lasting about 40 seconds he'd last a minute or two tops? Fedor took his opponents in a submission move for a countless number of times out of tricky positions. Lesnar can hit hard no doubt, and his size makes it "easier" to keep someone under control but against someone who can find weaknesses, it can backfire in many ways. Lesnar's size helped him win his matches til now.
