kaiwai
Windows 7 is the operating system that is going to save Microsoft from being doomed. Microsoft is already doomed. Direct2D and DirectWrite, two great API"s and guess what - widgets in Windows will not use it; it will be using the same old unaccelerated GDI/GDI+ which caused performance problems in Windows Vista. Isn't that bloody typical; introduce a new API that could improve Windows - and Microsoft fails to use it. Why aren't I surprised? Basically, after the confirmation from the Microsoft engineer relating to Direct2D/DirectWrite on Windows 7 - it can smell a fail cake in the process of getting baked. NoneAvail
Lets wait and see, Win7 will much greatly improve over the next couple months and then we can talk about failing. kaiwai
Why hasnt Microsoft hired you on to their development team? Because I would micromanage the whole project from start to finish. I would ensure that the product ended up exactly the way I demanded it - that is why. NEVER85
Microsoft is already doomed. This is all I needed to read to realize I never have to take your opinions seriously. Millions of companies worldwide would simultaneously need to stop using Microsoft products for them to be doomed, and since that's never going to happen (WinME debacle, Vista's poor reception by the lesser informed who actually think it's a bad product), we don't have to worry. It's not like Apple would be ready to take over for Microsoft if it ever did happen, nor would a worldwide migration to *nix be feasible at this juncture. Ci7
Really? Microsoft a monopoly? Have you been hiding in a cave? it is a known fact MS = OS monopoly since they command 90%+ from OS market . to be a monopoly any thing over 75%+ of any market Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/695152-win7-vista-sp1-and-xp-sp3-bootup-benchmarks/page/2/#findComment-590118638 Share on other sites

alphaomegainfinity
Monopoly means a single player market. So definitely the OS market is not a monopolistic as is misconceived to be. Microsoft Windows simply has a huge market share and are way ahead of its competitors. neufuse Veteran Posted November 13, 2008 Veteran Share Posted November 13, 2008 How about we benchmark windows 7 AFTER its at least at beta 2.. alpha builds could get worse or better... you never know what they are going to add or change in later builds...
