Sony Pictures celebrates NXE eve by... blocking Xbox 360 Netflix movie

No I'm just posting my opinion, its only trolling to you and other PS3 fans when you don't agree with it and get the hump. So like every day then..

It's trolling when you shove it in every single thread you can, even if the thread has nothing to do with what you're saying.

See the PS3 birthday thread, what was that all about? Other people notice it, it's not just me - https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...amp;p=590145006

Little bit of advice for you, start giving a damn about other members in the community and stop parading around trying to draw as much negative attention to yourself as possible. All you're doing is ****ting on your own community, when ironically, you seem to care much about it as you regular, contribute and post here often.

You know fine well some of the stuff you post will get you attention/making the signatures. I seen you and Sethos creating them again the other day due to the wee stomp in the birthday thread, I don't really care any more, I gave up in the past, but then I see Corris getting involved... and it reminds me of the storms in the past.

It's the timing on them that annoy people primarily, you always seem to go make another signature after a wee tussle with another member. It's like an "FU" to the member, because they've started "arguing" with you.

Why go out your way to annoy members of the community? You know fine well the arguments some of the antics cost, please start trying to be a bit more accommodating and act like the rest of us who don't like causing others to get annoyed. I don't like seeing others getting warned/banned in the gaming community so nowadays I'm trying my hardest to avoid doing so by not making little petty remarks/graphics I know will annoy people.

Jimmy Carr cracked a funny joke on his new DVD, I think an analogy can be made form.

He was talking about wife abuse, and said "Why beat your OWN wife?" ... "She's your OWN wife?!" "Would you go out and key your own car?!" "If you didn't like her before, she's not going to look any better with two black eyes". It's quite funny, watch the DVD.

Point being, stop doing things you know riles others up, you're only crapping on your own community and causing arguments on it.

We know everyone has preferences, please start putting them across in a more adult like manner (Y)

It annoys me to wits end because you contribute so much good, yet you choose to adopt the controversial persona that only brings you grief from forum members, causes arguments and basically does no good.

Sorry for the rant, but seriously, top rated community members acting like this drives me mental. I've tried so hard to clean my forum image up the past month(s), I wish others who have had runs in with me in the past would do the same.

Wow, don't really have much to say except you've got the complete wrong end of the stick. I've barely been active the past few weeks so I'm hardly looking for attention. Sethos and I were just having a laugh and decided to make some signatures. I didn't agrue with anyone or saying "FU" to anyone and then went and made it?

Again, I'm not trolling, the only reason you have such a problem with it is because you are always on guard when it comes to Sony. If you don't find my and others jokes funny, fair enough, we don't really care. We aren't here to please you or anybody. We are just having a laugh which is what this forum needs sometimes.

If you don't find my and others jokes funny, fair enough, we don't really care. We aren't here to please you or anybody.

That is true, but I'm asking you whether or not it would hurt, or even be a good refreshing move to try and please and get along with/please others at times. Because Munky, whether it's jokes or not, you 110% know the arguments some of the things that have been done can cause. You've been around here long enough to know, you're not a nobody on the forums.

A joke doesn't go amiss, but the same joke(s) repeatedly can get tiresome to see day in day out.

I know you and Sethos are good mates, and I'll say it again you contribute a lot between you both, but there are times I believe you make sketchy decisions that maybe does cause people to get the wrong end of the stick.

But be as you wish.

I think this is a minor licencing matter blown out of proportion but...

I think netflix online runs on a lot of MS technology including sliverlight, so I could see Sony rightfully blocking their movies on the 360.

You would need that leverage to get technological licence from MS to get netflix on PS3.

Now sony made a comment on the subject:

?This issue is not specific to Xboxb> or any other individual platform,? said a Sony Pictures spokesperson in an e-mailed statement. ?Sony Pictures is currently in discussions with the relevant partieesolve certain licensing matters related to the distribution of its motion pictures<s. Given the ongoing nature of these discussions, we don?t think it is appropriate to comment further at this time.?

So yeah, everyone stop whining about Sony already.

Each company will have a different agreement with Netflix. There is quite likely a simple clause in the agreement that says something like "you may not distribute on any other devices without prior consent". Therefore they have to renegotiate.

You were right again Kushan, just like the Halo HDD installs.

People should start listening to you ;)

I am curious to know what other devices this doesnt work on....

I think people listen to Kushan a lot more than other people these days anyway :p

I made the mistake of not doing so with Halo, and a load of people in here did as well.

So he's probably growing in followers :p

Agreed, he knows his stuff ;)

What is this Halo HDD subject? I seem to have missed it :(

Something to do with why Halo 3 is worse when you install it to your hard drive. It's in the NXE loading time topic!

Blu-Ray, DVD, or any future disk based media will ultimatley fail in the face of digital distribution. Sony knows it. I'm guessing this is a ploy to delay the inevitable, and keep their overpriced mess that is the PS3 afloat until after the holidays. Ultimatley though, people vote with their wallets, and it shows in the sales figures of both consoles. NXE is yet another nail in the PS3's old, rickety, featureless coffin.

Ooh careful there, some people around here don't like others posting their opinions anymore!

Yeah, I know. I'm playing with fire. :-)

But I have an excuse. I'm clearly a 360 fanboy. ;-)

Until we ever do move onto complete digital distribution with absolutely no physical products, what on earth is wrong with us having/using them?

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
