Burning Blu-Ray Movies to Disk with Windows

Recommended Posts

I want to burn recordings from my TiVo Series 3 using my Windows PC. I have TiVo desktop which allows me to transfer the movie to the PC. I've just ordered the new PC w/blu-ray burner and will install Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 on the system once it arrives. Can someone please walk me through the process or is it so easy I should be embarrassed to even ask the question? Thanks in advance.

What are you wanting to play them back on? You may not need to use Blu Ray discs.

What size are your recordings?

Do you know what video/audio codecs the TiVo system records to? (Is it HD? Like H264. Or SD, like DiVX/MPEG2? - Just examples, it could be more codecs). To find this out open the video files on your PC in GSpot - http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ - Should do the trick.

TiVo records HD and I'm not sure of the format when it transfers to the PC - I'll have to do one later and check. And I'll want to play them back on a blue ray player. Thanks.

Yup, depending on the size of the recordings though, some may fit onto DVD.

Just really depends what quality TiVo is recording HD in.

If you can get back to me on what type of files TiVo records and sends to the PC, I can help more!
