I hate Touchpads!

can someone actually help

Sorry mate, didn't think you were actually looking for help... Just thought you wanted to express your hatred towards touch pads since that's how you titled the thread and it isn't posted in the hardware help section.

Have you uninstalled the old software before re-installing it? Have you checked that the touch pad is still enabled in the BIOS? What's Device Manager say about it?

With a bit of luck it will be drivers and not hardware, I did a quick Google Image search but did not find a good pic if your laptop.

Does it have buttons on the same part as the touchpad do they work ?, I've never noticed any options to disable touchpads in the bios of mylaptop but could be worth checking, If you have the time I'd also try a CD bootable os like Knoppix or ubuntu see if it works in another OS

I've tried fn F7 and its just the LCD settings. On a seperate note, on the esupport website, only ONE of the two installations actually work. One of them lets me install it and goes all the way to where I have to click on "Finish". The other opens up says "preparing to install" then then immediately closes!

Also, they features around the touchpad itself dont work either like the right, left click buttons right beneath the touchpad itself.

Is this the driver that you installed?

Cause for all intents and purposes installing that (which I believe someone already suggested) should do the trick.

By the way, disabling the touch pad does not remove the touch pad driver from the Device properties.

And this is just a shot in the dark, but maybe try doing this? I doubt it'll work but it's always worth a try
