Our neowin Clubs have gone, and it's ?3.99 to create clubs now :

"At the moment there is no ongoing charge for running a Club but, in the future, we will introduce a fee (to be determined), which will be due every 30 days. We will not start charging a recurring fee earlier than 31st March 2009."

Who's gonna stump up for the "Official Neowin Club"?

They said clubs would cost a few weeks back when the beta kicked off.

I don't mind helping out towards one if we get a big enough NW base, but I'll hold out for now till things smooth out and we see how useful clubs could be.

32 people is the maximum that can join a club, 1 owner and 4 sub-owners I think.

Whats so special about a club that classifies it as premium content...?

Just wondering... not trolling

Not entirely sure all that's planned for them so far.

From the beta it was like a clan hideout.

Like an apartment, but it's called the clubhouse and up to 32 club members can occupy it at a time. Whoever buys it is clubleader, and you can have 4 sub-leaders.

There's a calendar and other stuff attached to update members. And in the beta there was a whiteboard... omgzzz! Haha.

Basically it looks like something that's clan/group orientated.

At the moment the maximum amount of people you can get in an apartment is 16.

I do think Neowin should have an official club though. Possibly run buy a member of staff?

I'd chip in

I've just been paid recently so we'll see :p

I'd rather get an idea of how many people on NW will actually first of all

a) Use their PS3 (we have a lot of actives in the PS3 forum who don't actually play games on their PS3s or even use it)

and

b) Have somewhat of an interest in Home, at least enough to say they'll use or keep track of the service if they ain't that keen just now

Cause if we only have like 6 potential members, it's not worth it :p There's a reason it's at a 32 cap!

Until I know more about clubs and their future potential, I'm a bit reluctant to pay for one as well. Fair enough there's no potential monthly fee till next year, but does that mean next year is when the big updates to them are planned?

Okay, I checked my bank balance and as I said just paid.

So, Neowin club, just search for "Neowin"

Only going to accept invites from people who actually use their PS3, as the club fills up at 32.

But to be honest I don't even know if we have 32 active PS3 NW members

Just in case I can't sign in tonight, keep me a spot saved lol.

You think Home is THAT popular around here? LOL

I'll hand out free booze to everyone if we reach 32 members by Christmas.

By the way it took me ages to get signed in :(

    • This 4K webcam from Acer is now only $59.99 by Taras Buria Those looking for an affordable, high-resolution webcam from a reputable manufacturer can check out the latest deal from Acer, which puts its 4K webcam at a solid price. Thanks to a 14% discount, you can buy this all-metal 4K webcam from Acer for just $59.99. Despite the affordable price tag, the webcam has a pretty large 1/2" CMOS sensor manufactured by Sony. Apart from its size, it supports additional conveniences, such as high dynamic range and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). Plus, the camera ensures you do not have to buy additional audio equipment, as it comes with two built-in high-sensitivity microphones, a built-in background noise filter, and the ability to pick up your voice from up to 2.5 meters away. Acer is not cheaping out on materials, and the webcam is enclosed in a more premium metal case, which is also good at heat dissipation (high-resolution cameras can get quite hot). And to make sure no one is peeping at you when the camera is in use, there is a magnetic cover also made of metal. Additional conveniences include an LED status indicator and a built-in mount that lets you place a camera on a tripod. • Stop reporting AR glasses as an X inch screen, Y distance away. That is a horseshit meaningless spec. Report on the actual FOV angle. That's all that matters. And for the record, this FOV is ~49degrees. So we're talking about HoloLens level FOV... i.e. it's like looking through a piece of paper at arm's length.
