I tried, nobody wants to buy it.

Lol, good reply.

I only said that, as you never play it, and you do complain almost everything about it.

Not that you only complain about PS3, there is alot of games, on different platforms etc, that you complain about or dislike and thats fine.

I do play it, just not on my Sethos profile ;)

Ebay it, someone will buy it.

Wow. Only been signed up for an afternoon and this place is terrible. Why post something like this?

What's wrong with me answering the guy? I did try to sell my PS3 several times with games and all, nobody seems interested, not even at discount prices. Thought the 60GB model would go down with the buyers like cookies and milk on a cold night.

My apologies, thought you were trying to be 'funny'.

I hope you sell it soon then.

We are aware that some people may be experiencing difficulty in accessing Home at present. This is due to overwhelming demand for the service as people access Home for the very first time since it became Open Beta and appeared on the XMB.

While we prepare solutions to ease the problem, you may continue to experience difficulties accessing Home. We kindly ask for your patience and suggest that you wait for a while before trying to log into Home again.

Please remember everyone, this really is a beta. We will bring further updates as we have them.

We're working up a list of the errors and should have them early next week.

However, I thought I'd find out about C-931 now as thats the one being reported the most currently and this is the error you'll receive when you can not connect and is related to very high levels of traffic.

Keep trying. I got it myself early and managed to connect after a few retries. I know that doesnt make it OK but at least theres a way round it sometimes. In the meantime its been reported to the dev team.

Looks like it will take a couple of days for the servers to settle down :/

I got in earlier, made the Club a bit nicer, but right now I can't get in to accept invites

By the way, earlier I had many more than 32 invites, so it's gonna be old timers first, then newer members. Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but it's the most efficient way for me to handle the NW club. Someone can start a second NW club if they want, if not, I'm doing my best to accomodate (Y)

We have about 16/17 members accepted just now, so if you're not in I'm going to be accepting more next time I actually get on :/

My invite best bloody be there! :p

If it's sent it will be, I woke up this morning to a mass of messages in my inbox relating to club requests

Members can be removed at a later date, so if anyone ever sells their PS3 or never uses home they can always be cut for extra space.

As I said though, all the old timers will be invited first, so don't worry.

I have to say, I need to jump back in and find the guy who was running aroung last night "saying" (via text) "**** THE JEWS".

He seems like a class act.

My fav moment was when a "chick" (avatar) comes over to me and my friend dep (and other dancers) saying "let's start a train". To which my first thought was "run a train?"

10 Things You Need to Know About PlayStation Home

By Mark Wilson, 11:00 AM on Fri Dec 12 2008

The PlayStation Home Open Beta is out, and it's simply the best way to taste what Sony has in store for the PS3 over the coming years. Here are the ten things you should know.

1) PlayStation Home is out, but in Open Beta status. If the world of Home feels sparse or buggy, Sony wants you to remember that it's not really out yet, even though it's actually been released to the public. The final version of PlayStation Home with all of the features Sony has teased is promised for next year.

2) It's not a firmware update. So to download PlayStation Home, don't go searching around System Update for the software. The option to download Home is built right in to the XMB under Network. And while the initial download is just 77MB, each area takes another 10-20MB. The system requires that you reserve 3077MB of storage for all of Home.

3) Chatting has mixed results. Talking to others is fairly mediocre in quality but is interestingly proximity-based, just like in real life. So if someone is speaking near you, you hear it, whether you want to or not. (Luckily, I was able to mute the idiot shouting "I'm a venereal disease" over and over.) Also of note, if you have friends in a different territory than you live, they won't be seen in public spaces, but you can invite them to your apartment to "chat."

4) There will be microtransactions, lots of 'em. Diesel is the partner Sony has been most vocal about for the time being, with pieces of their branded clothing available for $1-$2. And if you want to expand beyond your base apartment, a Summer House will be available for $5.

5) There are lots of dudes. Lots of them.

6) Free Games! PS Home features free bowling and billiards along with a few choices in arcade games. Your avatar actually walks up to a particular arcade cabinet before playing games like a Breakout clone or a gimped version of Ecochrome. Interesting in theory, so-so in execution. And only one guy on a machine at a time.

7) Game Spaces will be limited for now, but available in the Open Beta. These are the themed areas for your group to meet before loading a game. The only two spaces accessible at launch will be ?Far Cry 2? and ?Uncharted.? Each also features puzzle-like objects to interact with and strategic objects like maps for strategic pre-planning.

b> The Open Beta will be missing one of. You can sit down to watch a movie...if there were a movie. For now, you can watch a loop of a preview for Twilight and an accompanying music video. The quality is that of typical flash video, though the video screen does render smoothly into the 3D background.

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2008/12/home4.jpg10) PlayStation Home is not Second Life.ife. You cannot create anything in PlayStation Home. You can only buy it. Sure, you have your apartment to decorate as you see fit and you can choose the clothes your avatar wears, but these options are based upon preselections?preselections that Sony has complete control over. There are five shirts available to men in Home and you can't change the color. If Home were Second Life, not only would there be more shirts, but those shirts would be covered in animated dildos dancing to the beat of a live vocalist.

Home could be a great platform one day, but Sony needs to provide the content to back it up. And right now, anything short of more advertising is lacking. In Home, I feel like a prisoner?my uniform matches all the other inmates as I walk around beside the other inmates endlessly with nothing to do.

A Penetrating Look

The Beta for Playstation home is now available to everyone, and now you know what I know: this is what happens when your marketing department tries to make a game. Here is everything you need to understand about Home, if you should accidentally launch it from your XMB: press and hold the Playstation button in the center of your Dual-Shock or Sixaxis controller. From the menu that appears, select Quit.

There are things about Home that are simply beyond my understanding. Chief among these bizarre maneuvers is the idea that, when manufacturing their flimsy dystopia, they actually ported the pernicious notion of scarcity from our world into their digital one. This is like being able to shape being from non-being at the subatomic level, and the first thing you decide to make is AIDS.

If you approach an arcade machine and there is a person standing in front of it, you will not be able to play it. Likewise, if you see people bowling and think that bowling is something you might like to do, you probably wont be able to. Unable to play arcade games like Ice Breakers and Carriage Return the first several times we logged on, these games had begun to take on an epic stature in our minds. These were gushing fonts of liquid fun, habit-forming and dangerous - for the good of our virtual society, the supply had to be controlled. When we were finally able to play them, we learned that they were the equivalent of browser games.

There is nothing about the experience of using Home to suggest that you are actually moving through a single, contiguous environment. It is very clearly a handful of walled off zones, where you are confronted by incessant load screens in a desperate search for stimulation. From the moment you enter one of their ultrahygenic "amusement regions," it's clear that all life has been burned away. You get the sense that this is a place in which no interesting thing could ever happen.

There is already a growing school of Home apologetics, fostered by the same Order of Perpetual Masochists who lauded the rumble-free Sixaxis at launch and suggested, hilariously, that Lair and Heavenly Sword were videogames. They're under the impression that because something is free, this places it on some golden dais beyond censure. It's no virtue to give away something that no-one in their right mind would buy. They have no idea what this world is for, and that ambiguity infuses every simulated millimeter of it.

This is the terrible secret that roils beneath their false universe: it is nothing more than a cumbersome menu, a rampart over which you must hoist yourself to accomplish the most basic tasks.

(CW)TB out.

    • EA reached out to our reporter that mainly does gaming content and reviewed loads of other games, why would this be shocking to anyone? I admit maybe we were considered this time around because of the extra coverage UFC was getting and they wanted a broader audience for this release? IDK. I can tell you that we aren't paid to do the reviews, the fun part of it is (mostly) being able to keep what we review and giving an honest opinion on what we're reviewing.
